Personally, as a songwriter, I think that the absolute highest compliment that somebody can pay me, is to take the time to learn, perform, and record one of the tunes that I have written. The first time that it happened, it blew me away. And it continues to blow me away, every single time that I hear another cover. Sometimes the versions are amazing, other times... um... not. But no matter what, it is extraordinarily flattering to hear MY songs coming out of somebody else's mouth and instruments. There are 7 out there, total (that I know of). Very cool stuff; even the not-so-good ones. But,

Please tell me about these two albums. I have never heard anything of them before, and I generally like a lot of the same things that you do. Plus, I like the album covers.

Fear Of a Black Hat A "mockumentary" about a fictional rap band called NWH (Niggaz Wit' Hats). Some pretty funny gags, but ultimately, as it's a note-for-note ripoff of Spinal Tap, it doesn't quite hold together as a complete film. For instance Nigel's guitar collection: Taystee's gun collection David's girlfriend breaks up Tap: Ice's girlfriend breaks up NWH Old Tap videos: Old NWH videos And on and on... Still, as I said, there are some pretty good gags and, if you are a fan of 90's rap (gangsta rap, in particular), you may enjoy this one.

Agreed. I do not use lemon and find it irritating that I have to try to pawn off my lemon. Although its worse when they actually put the lemon IN to your tea or water, and you have to fish it out. Who the hell said that I even LIKE lemon?!?! Maybe I'm allergic to citrus. huh?

Yup Do Not Adjust Your Set. I've seen a few episodes and the Bonzos are the best thing about it. (Palin, Jones, and Idle had not yet hit their stride.) And, you know that the Bonzo guitar/piano player, Neil Innes, continued on as a member of the Python crew, and with Idle in The Rutles (Innes played Ron Nasty). Love that band.

I saw the band when they were touring Brighten the Corners (or maybe it was Wowee Zowee). At any rate, they were amazing then. Sadly, I've been very disappointed with Malkmus' solo career, so I am happy to see this happen. And hoping beyond hope that this will eventually bring forth new Pavement material. I loved this band back in the 90's, but the solo Malkmus stuff has disappointed me enough to actually sour me on the band's stuff a bit. Anyway, I'll go by my 10 favorite Pavement songs, since everyone else is seeming to go by albums (and since it is now the age of iTunes and whatnot):
