I lean toward not getting one, but if I did try one at the store and it sounded amazing and played great... isn't that all that matters? Still, as a rule, I don't buy jeans with holes already in them, and I like to break my guitars in myself.

Frankie Miller 1970's British/Scottish Pub Rock/R&B singer whose voice bears more than a passing resemblance to Rod Stewart's. The music, itself is also reminiscent of Rod's early 70's stuff, with an acoustic take on hard R&B. The only album that I know of his is Once In a Blue Moon, which features Brinsley Schwarz as his backing band. So, you know, it is pretty excellent.

So, Let's see if I can do this again: Barry Adamson Former bass player for The Bad Seeds and Magazine. A big proponent of the "soundtrack without a film" approach to music. Some really great albums, including Oedipus Schmoedipus and As Above, So Below. Reminds me a bit of Ennio Marcone at times (of course) and Nick Cave at others. Yes! "Sam" shoulda been a hit. And "Ten Gallon Pie" melts my face every time. I saw them do that one live, and I still don't know how Curt plays it! As to the debut. I want to like it. I really do. But it's just damn near unlistenable! Sloppy, poorly played and sang. Just... ugh. I will try to give it another listen, but I don't hold much hope for it, I'm sad to say.

The Sex Pistols - Never Mind the Bollocks... Played it for my 10-year-old yesterday and he freaked out. In fact, later on, he insisted on listening to it while taking a shower. I put the boom box in the bathroom, away from the shower, by the bathroom door and, while I was folding laundry in the next room, could I hear him rocking out, singing along to whatever he (thought he) could understand. At one point, he even poked his head, out from behind the shower curtain, sporting a shampoo mohawk. He had a huge smile on his face, knowing how ridiculous it all was... "MY BEAUTFUL SELF-ISH!!!" L
