Yo La Tengo was like that for me: first time one of the best; second time one of the worst (maybe the worst). -

It's just a snapshot of board tastes -- a quick hit. And the 9's at the top, are only because one person has rated them. As more people rate the record, higher or lower, the album will rise or drop in the charts. And, you can click through to see who the people are who rated each album and what their rating was for each. Gives a good idea of which albums you may like and a quick look as to who on the board you share tastes with.

I saw UT twice: once pre-No Depression, and once after Anodyne was released. It was like 2 different bands. So, when did you see them? Which UT was it? -

Going to Barcelona, Rome, Venice, Milan

I am Jewish. And one day, while wandering, we wandered right into the Jewish quarter! I was pretty surprised to see all the Hebrew "Kosher" signs, all of a sudden. But, since it was the High Holidays, there were armed soldiers guarding the temple and we could not get in. It was fun. Also, in Rome, make sure that you get to see "La Bocca Dela Verita". Just a fun little thing -- that was also featured in the Audrey Hepburn movie Roman Holiday. It's right near the architectural walk and the Spanish steps, but it's easy to miss when being overwhelmed by all of that. -

It averages everyone's ratings, so yes... the 10 + 1 = 5 math is correct. And, you are not going crazy, I just added the poll.

I check out the NP: thread, too. Love it. And, if you want to see an example of what I'm talking about, check out the link in the first post. And, mf: there is the poll. Vote away!

Why do you come to VC regularly? Yep. What do you get out of coming here? How did you get into VC? I met LouieB and Wendy in line, waiting to get into a Steve Earle show that we all won tickets to. They told me about this place (so blame them). I get some good musical advice, as to cool stuff to listen to. And also (you guessed it) some good ears to let me know what they think of my tunes, too, when I have something new to offer. Also, some of the other boarders have pretty damn good bands/music themselves. It's nice to hear that stuff, too. Do you consider yourself a Wilco fan, even if yo

Just bought the twofer from Amazon. Anxiously awaiting its arrival. Thanks for the recs. And, I will be getting more (all, most likely) at some point. But, this wasn't supposed to be just a recommendation thread, but a discussion of this brilliant artist. Anyone got anything else?
