There are the obvious: "A Hard Day's Night", of course. "Rocks Off" (Rolling Stones) -- has the greatest single snare hit in all of rock & roll. But also: "Get Ready For Love" (Nick Cave) -- Starting with the throbbing band, followed by Nick's howl of the song's title and the gospel choir's response of "Praise Him..." Also, every single Ramones song: "One, Two, Three, Four!!!"

Les Paul The man who invented both the solidbody electric guitar AND multitrack recording. or, for another musical one: Leon Theremin Invented not only his namesake instrument (the first electronic instrument and precursor to the synthesizer) but also an electronic bugging device used by the KGB (and later, US) during the Cold War. And, there is no shortage of information on him (including a great documentary for YOU to watch).

UPDATED LINK! Have at it. I hope you like it.

It doesn't get much better than this!

And maybe 3-ft. High and Rising. But this is awesome news. If they do a good to great job on the remaster, this could be really something. Who knows what else there is to be heard on those tracks? So dense.

I have yet to hear back from the wigmaker that it is done.

I guess that I should take this opportunity to announce my candidacy for the (soon to be) open seat of Governor of the great state of Illinois.

Tell me about it. Recommended if you like...?

I will definitely try to make the gig on the 30th. -

Pay to play politics. The man is clean! (But I guess I'm not.)

Why, yes! (Actually, they have my audition video at the website... it also aired on Channel 5, as part of their "Check, Please! on NBC". But this is about Barack!

He recommended the dixie kitchen & bait shop in hyde park Apparently it never aired because the (then) new State Rep. from Hyde Park dominated the conversation. If you're not familiar with the show, info here: http://checkplease.tv

I've just started getting into Crazy Rhythms and am loving it. "Fa-Ce-La" is too much fun.

Thanks for the props, Norbs. And thanks for listening. Most of the ads are music-related, and so tend to blend in to the site pretty well; but they should attract the attention of the music-focused people who frequent the place. Artists also sell mp3s through the site and, for a "Prime" membership pay a yearly fee (although it's pretty nominal). There is (or was) also a tie-in with Cashbox Magazine. But yeah, that player is compressed pretty well and plays LOUD. And Bunk: thanks for the bump. -
