  4. No sweat. Thanks. Ball-busting is to be expected when shilling oneself on a message board, I suppose.
  5. Bought this yesterday and I'm really digging it, despite the cheesecake album cover:
  6. Am I that much of a shill? I'm sorry. I just like to let folks know that I'm playing. It would be nice to meet some of you, even at a show that was not my own. Sadly, I don't get out as much as I used to. If you work in the far north suburbs of Chicago, we could meet for lunch sometime.
  7. Brinsley Schwarz - Ju Ju Man Jim Ford - Harlan County Kaliediescope - Jenny Artichoke Staple Singers - Sha Na Boom Boom (Heavy Makes You Happy)

  10. I wanted to post this today as a reminder that all of our Vets made sacrifices for the country that they loved, but didn't always agree with, I have uploaded this song. The recording is rough and will probably be re-done with a complete band, but this is the most-complete version that I have done so far. "Say You Will (A Reluctant Soldier's Plea)" 1. In the dark, pre-dawn morning We wait for the bus As the sun slowly comes Feelings overcome us I'll be oceans away But I'm always close by (chorus) 2. I'll be back in a year If I survive the fight I will do what I'm told Because I'm told
  11. Stevie Wonder - Songs In the Key Of Life Doug Martsch - Now You Know
  12. Don't own it, but I've heard nothing but good things about it. And I know that my wife loves it. (And she has pretty good taste, for the most part.)
  13. A short day for me, so I probably won't get to it all, but: Bob Dylan - Nashville Skyline Bloque - Bloque Jonathan Richman - Jonathan Sings! Television - Marquee Moon The Brokedowns - New Brains For Everyone
  14. I wish for just one time you could stand in my shoes Then you'd know what a drag it is to see you That, and: I was so much older then I'm younger then that now EDIT: And it's funny that I was actually listening to Nashville Skyline when I came upon this thread!
  15. Less thank a week to go before I play this thing and my whoring (for this show, at least) will end. Even if you hate my music, it would be fun to see you there. You can see what the surgery really did to me. Gabba gabba hey!
  16. Kasey Chambers & Shane Nicholson - Rattlin' Bones Judas Priest - Best Of: Living After Midnight Roxy Music - Roxy Music M.O.T.O. - Single File The Tories - Wonderful Life
  17. Kasey Chambers/Shane Nicholson - Rattlin' Bones is pretty good. I'd say it's the best album that she ever did and is worthy of Top 5 consideration for the year.
  18. Smoking Popes - At Metro Tenpole Tudor - Swords Of 1000 Men
  19. I always call him out as one of my favorite authors but, truth be told, I haven't gone back and read any of his books in years. I need to do so. And, from memory, I loved Mr. Rosewater, as well. But I always think of my faves as: Slaughterhouse 5 Cat's Cradle Welcome to the Monkeyhouse and then, whatever else I can remember.
  20. You didn't show the pic of the troops in Afghanistan sitting in a half-empty room, staring blankly at the screen.
