  1. ouch. Still, Wilco has never recorded a song as good or as timeless as "Windfall" or "Tear-Stained Eye" (nor has Son Volt, post-Trace) (EDIT: And, of course I say this with a ton of love for Wilco.)
  2. I see. And thanks. And, I seriously do forget whether or not I have posted these things before. My memory is for shit and I did do a search for this particular topic before posting this. So, apologies to everyone here for, what appears to be a bombardment of posts about my music and my band. I do hope that I contribute enough in the way of other posts about other bands that won't ostracize me from the community. Mods: feel free to delete this thread.
  3. It took a VERY long time for Loveless to hit me, too. All I can say is, if you generally like that type of thing, keep listening. Spin it again every now and then. There are a lot of layers to sort through, but once you start to hear the little bits and pieces, you start hearing more bits and pieces and then you start to hear more untill finally you hear it all. And when you do, it's a revelation. I speak from experience. So, if you feel like it, just keep listening. It will be very rewarding in the end. Or, if you feel like you've listened to it way too much already, give your copy to a
  4. Guided By Voices: EDIT YOURSELVES!!!
  5. What you are implying, good sir, is that I intentionally bombard you with the same message over and over, when that is, in fact NOT the case. You see... I had brain surgery. What is your excuse?
  6. Freakwater - Feels Like the Third Time Pink Floyd - Early Singles Kings Of Leon - Youth & Young Manhood Sugar - Copper Blue The Joy Poppers - Zoomar!
  7. I had it on YouTube, but the station made them take it down. So, I'm distributing it to friends for private performance. And, sorry rareair. I guess you could just post here that you want to see it, and I can send YOU a PM. At any rate, thanks to y'all who have shown interest. And now, I hope that in several months, when I get the bug up my butt to share this again, I will remember that I posted this -- twice.
  8. The Beatles: Revolution #9. Just.... no.
  9. Listening to "Queen Of Hearts" right now and totally digging it. Produced by Dave Edmunds, you know. Now, I just need to get "Love's Been a Little Bit Hard On Me" to really break my face with a smile.
  10. Did I post this before? But I played live on TV with my band back in '05. PM me for the link. Sorry if I already posted this, but I forget things. And nothing came up on a search. Yeah, it's a download. Let me know if you like it or hate it or whatever. I hope you like it, though.
  11. Yeah, this one is gonna be a tough one. Unless you hate Dylan (which I know may be a few of you), how do you choose from among his 1960's and early 70's output? It's pretty close for me, between Freewheeling, Blood On the Tracks, and Nashville Skyline, but in the end... Nashville Skyline wins out, just for the sheer fun of it. As brilliant as all those albums are, my choice is the only one that really makes me smile outright.
  12. Brian Eno - Another Day on Earth Bob Dylan - The Freewheeling Bob Dylan Bee Gees early years compilation
  13. I listened and I dug it. Can't really comment on any specifics until I give it a few more spins, but I wanted you to know that there is at least one more person on here who checked it out. And appreciated it.

  20. I think yes. Moreso than lots of stuff. Think about the band. Despite the bombast, there are a lot of subtleties to the songs -- a lot of nuance. But with the hellacious acoustics in that cavernous space, you most-likely won;t even know what freaking song they're playing at all!
  21. DAMN! I love that record. Gotta pick up the reissue sometime soon. And hide it from the kids, who would probably love it and then run around singing "New York's Alright (If You Like Saxophones)" at school all day.
  22. Shrimp Boat - Something Grand (disc 3) Paul Simon - Surprise Judas Priest - Best Of: Living After Midnight Jimmy Cliff - The Harder They Come (OST)
  23. This is a fun thread. I gotta try to find more old mixes to post, of meown. Oh, and Liz: That Toots song is one of my favorite tunes EVER. Nice one.
  24. This place is Pleasantville compared to a lot of other music boards around the net. And, welcome!
