  2. I like it. It's cool. Anything that I'm dying to know? Not really, I don't think. I don't really know enough about them, in general to have any burning questions. Have a great time interviewing them. Phone or in-person? I'll be excited to read your interview!
  3. The Butterscotch Cathedral - S/T A psychedelic masterpiece, with two 18-minute, multi-movement suites that fly by. Quite awesome, indeed.http://active-listener.blogspot.co.nz/2015/10/the-butterscotch-cathedral-st.html
  4. I love Los Lobos. But, not so sure that they are really a HoF-type band. What that tells me is that how awesome a band is really has nothing, or very little to do with how worthy they are of inclusion. Because, if it did, The Wolves would be a lock.
  5. Well aware. And it's Sox fans like you that make me cringe to root for the Sox. But I still do. It's still a Chicago team, even if it's not my Chicago team.
  6. Someone should start an alternate HoF. The RnR Bedroom of Fame, or something like that. They couldn't quite make it into the hall. But, boy are they sexy! Jack Rabid would be a good curator, methinks. Or the Basement of Fame: too far underground to gain the recognition they deserve.
  7. Guess Harry Nilson didn't make the cut, once again. http://www.npr.org/2015/10/07/446587022/this-is-our-guy-musicians-rally-for-harry-nilsson-an-icon-who-dodged-fame
  8. Check out what happens on Twitter when you use the hashtag "#FlyTheW": they insert a tiny little "W" flag into your post that links to Cubbie news. Pretty cool. If you're not from Pittsburgh.
  9. Yeah, pretty much. My initial excitement at hearing the news was very quickly extinguished upon hearing the samples. Looks like a few "classic" covers on the album, too.
  10. Actually, I'm not so sure what to think about this. It could be horribly embarrassing. Almost 50 years after their last album, and all that. In fact, the name of the album does not bode well: Still Got That Hunger. Get it?! They're zombies, and they're still hungry for… stuff. Like, to make music and things. Terrible. That said, it IS The Zombies, and they have put out some of the best music of the rock and roll era, so... Unfortunately, the part of the one song that I listened to here, is not that great. http://www.allmusic.com/blog/post/album-premiere-the-zombies-still-got-that-hu
  11. No, and not Bayase in Marion either. It was some place out in Murphysboro, I think. Although I did buy a banjo from Golden Frets and took my acoustic guitar there for setups and whatnot.
  12. I had an old Traynor, too! This one: But I couldn't get any power out of the damn thing. Took it to a couple of different places to get looked at, but nobody knew what to do. So, finally, I traded it in at a music shop down by where I went to school in Southern Illinois. Got a piece of shit mid-80s Peavy that I really hated. A couple of months later, one of my bandmates went to the same shop, saw my old amp and asked about it. The shop owner said that it wasn't for sale. Told him that it turned out to be a $35 dollar repair and it was the best-sounding amp he'd ever heard. FUCK!
