Yeah, pretty much. My initial excitement at hearing the news was very quickly extinguished upon hearing the samples. Looks like a few "classic" covers on the album, too.

Actually, I'm not so sure what to think about this. It could be horribly embarrassing. Almost 50 years after their last album, and all that. In fact, the name of the album does not bode well: Still Got That Hunger. Get it?! They're zombies, and they're still hungry for… stuff. Like, to make music and things. Terrible. That said, it IS The Zombies, and they have put out some of the best music of the rock and roll era, so... No, and not Bayase in Marion either. It was some place out in Murphysboro, I think. Although I did buy a banjo from Golden Frets and took my acoustic guitar there for setups and whatnot.

I had an old Traynor, too! This one: But I couldn't get any power out of the damn thing. Took it to a couple of different places to get looked at, but nobody knew what to do. So, finally, I traded it in at a music shop down by where I went to school in Southern Illinois. Got a piece of shit mid-80s Peavy that I really hated. A couple of months later, one of my bandmates went to the same shop, saw my old amp and asked about it. The shop owner said that it wasn't for sale. Told him that it turned out to be a $35 dollar repair and it was the best-sounding amp he'd ever heard. FUCK!

My old rehearsal space was in a basement that suffered an awful flood. While my guitar was sealed in its case and floating on top of the water and I was thankfully able to salvage my amp once we got it dried out, I lost this: So hard to find another one from that era for anything close to affordable. I didn't use it all the time, but for certain things, it was perfect. And its sound is inimitable.

Yay Brad!!! Brad Sarno mastered one of my albums and played pedal steel on a song on there (and his wife sang harmonies on that same song). I've been wanting to pick up something from him for a while -- really wanting the Black Box: a passive signal conditioner that sweetens the tone. Also want an Earth Drive.

YES! Just purchased this thing from Amazon with a gift card and come gift cash that I got recently and I CANNOT WAIT!!! (Can you tell that I'm a little enthusiastic about this?) It's been many years since I've seen this thing and, I'm thinking that I might have some friends over for a viewing party sometime soon. Yeah. That would be a great idea! Also, I cannot wait for my kids to see this for the first time. They are both starting to get into punk a little bit and I think that they would dig it.

Yesterday was my younger son's birthday -- he turned 14. He's a big fan of the anime Attack on Titan so, even though we had not heard good things about this flick, he wanted to see it. So, I took him. It was not good. But, it was entertaining. Plus, seeing a movie like this in a theater full of anime geeks, as we did, there was an additional level of entertainment, with some of the hooting and hollering at the screen. We'll go see Part 2 when it comes out in a month or 2. Yeah. Definitely. EDIT: And, I just noticed that the release date on the image says "2018." Boy, did they get that wrong.
