  1. Do they have a "cause" that they are passionate about? You could donate to a charity that they like, or she likes, (sorry, it's all about the bride ) I can give you a couple great programs if you need any Chicago charities... Also, we received a flag that was flown over the U.S. capitol on our wedding day, (with a letter from the late Senator Wellstone included.) It really was our most unique wedding gift. I believe each senator is allowed so many flags to give out, and if you write a letter to them, chances are good they will send you one with a letter addressed to the bride and groom.
  2. I believe Dr. Andrew Weil recommends most Americans take the following 3 supplements... In moderation, and obviously according to the dosage listed on the bottles, he claims they are safe for everyone. Omegas, digestive enzymes and probiotics. My integrative heath doctor says a good "over the counter" brand for them is the UDO brand. A lot of alternative health doctors today are focused on your "gut health." If your tummy is healthy, you will feel healthy.
  3. Hired, those three girls can be the source for your income and secret to my sanity! look out mangy moose/stagecoach, Etc.!
  4. Wait, Edie, I think I can see you making Jackson Hole! My name isn't Hoback Junction for nothin~ Allison, you too! Forget the berkshires and Indie, I must go back to the homeland for this...the Village and Wilco, dear God.
  5. Peet's, Dunn Brothers and Yogi Tea for tea days
  6. DITTO. And yes, Solace, it certainly is one of THE coolest places in the U.S.
  7. Would you be willing to try out Acupuncture? I can't imagine the pain you have, but I do get migraines and found that a combination of acupuncture and chinese herbs and yoga have really helped. I am guessing you can't even do yoga to begin with? There are a lot of success stories with the RIGHT Acupuncturist. The Chinese way of medicine has been going on for at least 2,000years...I think...at least that's what my acu. told me.... So there is something to be said for that. Good luck to you, and Lou is absolutely right, just don't even look and don't even imagine that needle!
  8. hey scuby, #7 just might be my favorite photo, it's a hard call between that and your avatar! Either way, great pics!
  9. Minus the "dog-whistler," and drunk high school boy who was hanging on Jen and I, clearly Cathy and I should NOT have driven home!
  10. I have 2 pals from Georgia making the trek......

  15. Hey Lou, of course I am a little slow, so maybe you'll see this tomorrow, but I hope you had a Great birthday in Springfield! All these little wilco fans were also born under the Bull! Here's to many more!
  16. I grew up near Mayo Civic Center and a lot of downtown Rochester has changed through the years, I can give you a few different choices... Close to MCC 1-PappaGeorge's a bar/restaurant (connected to Michael's restaurant) and walking distance from MCC, good food, kind of quiet... 2-Newts -216 1st Ave., a block west of broadway, my 71 year mother says it has the coldest beer and best burger in Roch. 3-my favorite (a bit farther from MCC) is the Redwood Room at 300 1st Ave. NW, it's in the basement of the restaurant 300 1st. They often have live music and might be open for an early dinner.
  17. I have to agree that I am in utter shock that Wilco is playing in Rochester. I grew up 10 minutes from mayo civic and when I was living there it was a huge deal if the Oak Ridge Boys were playing! My 70 year old parents called to tell me they saw the show advertised in the Post-Bulletin, and they couldn't wait to brag to their farmer friends that they know all about "some band called Wilco," from their Grandkids. I wish I could be there, esp. to meet other fans! I am so curious how many locals will be there vs. twin cities folks.......oh and of course, you ARE in for a treat!
  18. edie, my other avatar has my girls in white sox t-shirts!
  19. LOVE LOVE LOVE Grain Belt! Too bad I can't find it in Chicago!!!
  20. Hey Rob....Isn't Minnesota always a cool place?!! ! How about, "I wanna drive a zambonie!!!" GearDaddies, too funny, brings back LOTS o good college memories! Some of those UT/Wilco tunes remind me so much of the Jayhawks...New Madrid, Hesitating Beauty, ETC. Oh and, Austin- ! And Honey Dogs!!!! I say we have our own music festival at my parents farm with that entire line-up...minus UT, not big on JF's voice.
  21. my girls LOVE Sheryl Crow, and if you can stand it~the Sound of Music soundtrack-it's cheesy, but sweet. Another idea is to make a kiddie-wilco mix because some of those lyrics are so powerful. I've talked to my kids often about the lyrics in Jesus,Etc. "our love is all of gods money," and What Light is another wonderful song for kids. Others my girls like...Hoodoo Voodoo, The Thanks I Get, CA stars, hmd-studio version . Good Luck.
  22. sorry to have posted a thread on this topic, just searched the history and found what I was looking for..........they are playing a sold out show at the metro tonight
