Just reading the paper: The federal motor fuel tax is 18.4 cents p/g. In Iowa, the motor fuel tax is 20.7 cents p/g until July 1, when it will be increased to 21 cents p/g. The federal taxes on diesel are slightly higher. The fed govt charges 24.4 cents p/g and Illinois charges 21.5 cents p/g. Plus there is the motor fuel tax of 37.5 cents and the IL sales tax is 6.25% of the sale price of the product...

If you are coming up for Nels I can pick you up at the train or bus as well. We need to coordinate schedules on this as I'm picking Maggie up at....some time I don't recall.. Nels will be surprised since he told us he was only thinking about 8 people were going to show up for his show. Imagine if we got a whole group together and sat there drinking bourbon...'oh what a night...'

Yeah same here...I was getting a bit upset when they were talking on the news because they made it out like noone has a reason to drive to work...and it's like..unless they move Best Buy and John Deere out to one of my dad's fields i'm pretty sure 2 of us are still driving to town!

They talked on the news locally last night about how last weeks Bike to Work week went so well..and with the gas prices going up they are thinking about trying to make the streets more bike/pedestrian friendly to encourage that more.

Plus it was funny to hear the cheer when you finally came in That was our little drama while in line...both lines..and it was funny how everyone was so concerned for you 2 getting tickets. Everytime Allison ran by I was stopping her to ask what was going on...

It's okay. Big crowds aren't my thing either. I was glad to meet Three dollars so right off I didn't have to introduce myself to anyone in a crowd. When I went to see Wilco in Des Moines i went alone so I forced myself to meet at least one person, and ended up having her help me get up closer later on when a couple left. It was cool meeting you...especially after i caught on to who the heck you were in VC World.

I agree with M. Christine..especially when you go around promising to be naked...and it takes me hours to realize it's you because you are clothed and quiet!
