Very nearby. Third time for me at the venue. Sound is great but it is a bit uptight, if you ask me. Friday night was the most lively I’ve seen it. Really great show. So sorry about your dog. And hope your wife is on the mend.

Saw Nels Cline with Gerald Cleaver and Larry Ochs last night in New Haven. Pretty mind-blowing set with Nels twiddling knobs and jumping in pedals and generally punishing his guitar. So nice to get to see him up close and in a small club (actually a recording studio.) I think they are heading to Philly next, then Brooklyn. Recommended.

I'm not much for praying but that's about it. But just keep trying if you don't get through the first time. Honestly, I've never been shut out of a Wilco show before. The NYC tickets will be in demand, for sure, but there are 4 night to choose from. Best of luck...

Any word on pre-sale passwords for the NY shows? Thx.

Hmm, I often wonder about this. Part of me thinks that Nels will be the first one to move on. He seems to me like someone who's always looking to branch out. I wonder what's his impetus for sticking around. As for the rest, I can't see it unless Jeff decides that should be the case. After all, he's the boss. Do you know something we don't, nalafej?

Was that the show at Maine State Pier? That's one of my fave Wilco shows ever.

Stream the out-there new record from Nels Cline and White Out

I'm generally with you on this but I think this type of stuff is what Nels really enjoys doing. I think being in Wilco allows him the personal and financial freedom to dabble like this.To each their own... -
Only on this board would people be fretting about the weather 4 1/2 months away.

2 for New Haven!

Are the ticket links supposed to be on the shows page?

Same here...

The venue in New Haven is quite small (1,500 capacity) It will be a real treat to see them in a bit more intimate setting.

Listening to this show now. Positively love this sludge rock version of Kamera.

CD's are gross, fwiw.

If you ask me, $6.47 is still too much to charge for shipping. I sell a ton of records via Discogs and I charge $3.25 to ship LP's domestically via media mail. There's no reason anyone should be charged $6.50.

I wouldn't really expect another CT show either but, honestly, I hate schlepping up to Hartford. I'd much rather head to NYC or Boston. And yes to to the letter to Tony.

Mizzy, I'm afraid College St. might be too small. Last time in NH they played the Shubert, which is much bigger (and seemed full.) But one can dream.

Well. I live in New Haven, just about 1/2 hour away from Bridgeport and I'm not bothering with the the Vibes mostly for the reasons stated above and, knowing the demographics of the fest I am dubious about Wilco playing any of the new songs. This is a fest that would be all over the classic, old-school Wilco set, full of the old chestnuts. The band may decide that just might be easiest. On the other hand, it would be fantastic to see them confound the audience with a new set full of skronky new songs. But, I just saw two sets at Solid Sound. I'm gonna wait for an NYC show or another round

My review, fwiw. Tremendous on so many levels and (sort of) the record I've been waiting for Wilco to make for years. Both Nels and Glenn both own this, for the most part. Selfishly, I wish they would have played some of this at Solid Sound. I also think that with more listens I will be rewarded even further. Also, I love that it blows by in 34 minutes.

I totally agree that when there is a new Wilco record, the more fucked-up and difficult it is, the better. Bring back O'Rourke to produce and play on it.

I'm not religious but, "amen" to this.

I find Mr. Heartbreak's (and others) take on pot smoking amusing. People get high at concerts and they always will. My kids were with me again this year. It's a great way to demystify marijuana for them. Now they know what it smells like, what a joint looks like and can see how people react to pot. All important things for adolescents to know about. I think you need to get out more. As for cigarette smoking, it's dumb but last I looked it was legal in Massachusetts. People smoke, people get high, people sing along. I'm shocked about all the whining here.

I'm dismayed about all the negativity in seeing here. Mizzy makes a great point about the local restaurants. They are a stones throw away from Mass MOCA and were delicious. No lines either, for the most part. Also, the delicious Indian food vendor had a very short line and great veg. food. There were more options than burritos. I'm focussing on all the beautiful moments I had at SS15 with my friends and family. So much laughter and good vibes and my kids (14 and 10) had a great time too. Not sure where the anti-kids vibe is coming from but it's off putting. Anyway, we're already talking abo

The Ryley Walker set on Saturday afternoon was soulful and extraordinary. Far too short though. Cibo Matto was super fun too w/Nels on guitar.

Well, it does suck that King Sunny can't make it but, I can heartily recommend Ryley Walker on Saturday as well as Parquet Courts and the great Charles Lloyd on Sunday. Still plenty to be excited about. It's great just hanging in North Adams for the weekend w/the family.
