  1. AS much as I would like to see The Flaming Lips show, there's no way Wayne Coyne will play second fiddle to anyone, plus, looks like they are doing some shows in Scandinavia in June.
  2. The Solid ground campsite is right in town and a quick-ish walk to Mass Moca, for those who want to rough it a bit.
  3. Looks like the family is all set, two adults, two kids. Looking forward to it!
  4. Sorry if this has been discussed before but...Solid Sound Festival, kid friendly?
  5. Earlier set time maybe means you folks will get a longer set tonight to make up for the conditions.
  6. I don't know. This was my fourth Wilco show and easily the most ho-hum of the bunch. I wihs the band would mix up their set list from time to time. Did we really need to hear "Impossible Germany" again? Or "I'm the Man Who Loves You?" Or Outtasite?" Or "Handshake Drugs?" They have played these songs every time? Seriously, the band has a ton of songs to choose from. Also, things really seem "choreographed" this time. From the sing along, to the extended guitar breaks in "I.G." Even Nels guitar freakouts (which were amazing as usual) seemed a bit contrived. Oh...and Tweedy didn't really seem t
  7. According to my ticket order history on teh Front Gate website my tickets were shipped today.
  8. I believe the policy is no will call tickets for the Central Park show. Besides, how would it be possible? Would you pick up your tickets from the pretzel guys? Or maybe the guy who dresses up like the Statue of Liberty near the Columbus Circle entrance to the park? I guess the possibilities are endless.
  9. According to my FrontGate account order history they haven't yet been sent out. I thought they said Aug. 22nd as well.
  10. Just got this tweet: Boston, NYC, Indy & Toronto presales have sold out. Regular tickets (& majority of the house) on sale 7/15. Stay tuned. wilcoworld.net/shows
  11. Saw the NYC show last night. Amazing stuff all around, not a slouch in the bunch. Only complaint was that Nels' guitar, at times, got lost in the din. He needed to be louder. So happy I saw this. Le Poisson Rouge is a swanky place to see a show.
  12. The "best crowd ever" was the pot drenched folks last summer on the pier in Portland Maine. Now that was a crowd.
  13. Got my Boston tickets as well. So big that they will be almost impossible to misplace. Almost.
  14. Sorry Man, I got a pair at 10:02, no waiting room hassle, no problem. I think I'm gonna play the lottery tomorrow.
  15. Got two for Boston, Row F. I was surprised at how easy it all was but now I see I'm in the minority on that.
  16. Nothing to add except I have to hand it to the Maine folks, I haven't smelled that much high-grade weed in the crowd in quite awhile. It just kept wafting the entire show. God bless New England.
  17. This set seems to have a lot in common with the New Haven show, set -wise.
  18. I agree a bit about the low energy but that was only for about the first 4 or 5 songs. I really thought things picked up from there. I think it may have had somethig to do with a seated venue. First Wilco show and let me say that Glenn and Nels are monsters. Both played stunningly. I was in the mezz as well (third row) and was amazed how close we were. We went to Bar before the show and had a really good white clam pie. At one point I looked a few booths over and swear that I saw Nels sitting there with some folks. We left at 8:05 and he was still there, We walked to the show, sat down an
  19. Rudy's is good. Amazing frites there as well.
  20. Unfortunately, the pizza places we mentioned aren't within walking distance of the Omni. But...there is a place called Bar which is. It's on Crown street. They have excellent New Haven style pizza and really really good beer. (they brew it there.)
  21. Ginnvt: Regarding hotels, New HAven really doens't have that much to choose from (surprisingly.) I can recommend the Omni however. If you don't mind spending some $ it is very plush and walkable to the show. And...just so folks don't get confused, the tasty pizza places are on Wooster St. (not Worcester.) Try a Foxon Park birch soda, if you see one.
