  1. Can't help you there. I found this on etree: http://bt.etree.org/details.php?id=520974 Guess I'll grab this one.
  2. That show looks pretty sick, opening up with Eyes might have been a clue. Is it worth a snatch )spending a snowy day snatching Floyd and Dead shows) and if so, have you found a SBD or matrix that may be better than the archive recording you linked to?

  4. Not really sure. I think so but don't follow it closely enough to really know. Not much of tribute band follower (this is the only tribute band I ever saw) but as you said, these guys are really good. Vocals aside, if you gave someone the pepsi challenge on the real genesis and the musical box, I think they'd have trouble telling them apart, at least I would. Maybe the drums would be the give away but the guys playing hacket, banks and rutherford are spot on. The whole concept of doing note for note, visual effect for visual effect copies of tours could really backfire unless you are rea
  5. I was there Friday. You should check out when the do the Selling England tour. The lead singer does a better Gabriel IMO.
  6. Interesting, BT was a huge album for me and while at various points when other albums have come out, i thought it was surpassed as their best, I keep coming back to it over time. For me, it's still just a great record of great tunes and while I never thought of it as daring, Misunderstood was daring for them in breaking the alt country label, I still think it works as an 80 minute statement on rock 'n roll and rock 'n fandom. BT songs are still the most excited I get when they play them live. They may have albums that are more ambitious or have better lyrics and even some better songs but t
  7. I'm not sure if this counts as being out and about but got in my car to make a quick run to the store last night and put XM-50 The Loft on and they had just started playing the Lonely 1. I have never heard that song on anything resembling a radio station, satellite or otherwise, and it really took me by surprise. I have always loved that song and just hearing it on the radio made me really pay attention to it. Being There was such an important album to me at the time it came out and hearing a deep cut from it on the radio made my night.
  8. Thanks. Jeff actually wasn't at the dinner, it was just the other 4. I guess Jeff snoozed in the dressing room or something.
  9. My pleasure, glad you enjoyed it.
  10. Kind of a cool story. Was lucky enough to have a friend that I used to work with in Philly radio in the late 90's. He had arranged with reprise to interview Jeff before the show at the TLA in late April/May '99 (Too lazy to check Wilcobase for the exact date but I think it was 4/28/99. Anyhow, we get to the TLA around 5- 5:30 and and get led into the room. House lights are up and there are Wilco sound checking She's Jar, just me, my buddy and the reprise rep. They were stopping and starting it and working through some stuff and it was pretty cool. They may have played another song and th
  11. Yeah, I'm not really a fan club joiner type of guy but you can't beat it, for the yearly single alone. I was a member for 10 years before they started the ticket thing, now it's an even better deal.
  12. Had to be a member before the tour was announced. R.E.M. fan club is $10 per year but since 1988, they have sent a x-mas single to members. Back in the day when R.E.M. was popular, those early singles were worth a couple hundred bucks if you could find one. They used to be 45's but now they are CD singles. I have no idea what they are worth now. I think the highest run they ever had was 6,500 for one year in the mid nineties but I'm not really sure. Kind of make the $10 worth it. There was a password issued by the fan club for the pre-sales so I suppose those inclined could probably ge
  13. I think the band can control that. For R.E.M.'s last tour, I got 4 tickets in the fan club pre-sale in the Pit at the Mann in Phila. Seemed to me like it was mostly fan club members in the Pit for that show. If 1/3 of the tix for that Fox show are on Stub Hub, it's pretty obvious the promoter is either funneling the tix to brokers or maybe even putting them up there themselves behind a shell organization. I would think if Wilco wanted to stop that they could but who knows what kind of deals they cut with promoters. Maybe bands get more money if they give up control of ticket allotments
  14. Seller pays 15 points, buyer pays 10, they make 25% on each sale. It's on top of the sale price so if the ticket is $100, the buyer pays $110 and the seller receives $85. Genius if you ask me.
  15. There will always be an after market. If given the choice between buying a ticket from a scalper in front of the venue that may be fake(happened to me for Bruce in '99 lost $450) or making a purchase that's guaranteed, I'll take the latter. Real fans do have a shot at getting seats. I got 2 for Montclair in the pre-sale and to for Philly this AM at face plus the silly fees. What if I was away this week and missed the sales? At least with Stubhub, i can go if I really want to. Like I said before, with these venues, there are more real fans than there are tickets, people are going to get
  16. I don't think it's a moral thing at all, it's supply and demand. I've never had a problem paying a scalper or a ticket broker a premium for either a great seat to a show I want to go to or for a seat to a show I got shut out of. To me, that would be like saying it's immoral to sell your house for more than you paid or to sell a stock for more than you paid. I do agree that the shady business of promoters funneling the best seats to brokers is a joke but it seams that most bands with pre-sales or fan club sales(R.E.M., Wilco, Pearl Jam etc.) or acts like Bruce who have GA in front of the st
  17. Right, that show was great too. It seems like Wilco is going out of their way, at least locally to play GA shows. Looks like Montclair could have seats down front but they are pulling them out for the shows and they are playing the factory instead of the Tower when I think the Tower has a larger capacity.
  18. It is. If prices are too high, you can always wait the people out to see if they come down. Also, e-tickets are the best option since they get e-mailed to you in PDF form and you don't have to wait for them to be shipped.
  19. I hear you, just can't stand the factory, the Tower is an ideal venue for them. They used to take the seats out of the front orch for some shows for GA in the front and reserved in the back and the balcony, I wonder if they so that anymore.
  20. Stubhub is awesome. You may have to pay over face but at least you can get into any show if you really want to go and since they guarantee the order, you never have to worry about getting ripped off by fakes in front of the venue.
  21. Scored 2 for Philly at 10am. Completed the order and checked at 10:02 and they were all gone. They need to start playing bigger venues. Perosnally wish they were at the Tower this time around.
  22. To me, even before I saw this thread, when listening to the live ending of You Are My Face I would think, man a nice slide into Terrapin Station right here would go nicely.
  23. What can I say? Magazine, imo, is a piece of pure pop confection and I love it. Radio Cure, to me, is a dirge. I understand how making these switches changes the mood of YHF, that's why I like it. The pop of magazine and cars to me balance the record better and make it a better record. I understand what Jeff was trying to accomplish with the released sequence, I just like my alternative better.
