  1. In highschool I got into YHF , I thought they were a wierd band but I l8iked the sound and I was getting into weird music at the time. Its funny cause now YHF sounds so acessible to me. then I bought Being There which I thought was a great rock record and I started to understand what kind of band they were then I saw them live and bought everything else. AGIB was coolat first but it really took me over a year to get it, when I did it became my favrite Wilco record. At first I was just really upset that they didnt make another pop record I was into allot of Belle and Sebastian at the time.

  2. I'm reading the link you posted and, quite frankly, it all seems like conspiracy theories to me. No concrete evidence, and if you're going to make allegations like that, the burden of proof is on you.

I put this in the same boat with the 9/11 truthers. We're supposed to believe at the same time that Bush is one of the worst, most incompetent presidents of all time (I probably think this is true), but that he can also orchestrate these 3 huge evil plots.

Looking at the breakdown of the 2004 election by party support, it's pretty easy to see that the republicans just did a better job of convincing the base. The Democrats put up an awful candidate, Bush didn't need to steal anything.

Dude first off sorry for bridging this up again but I have a point to make. When people use the burden of proof line it really irritates me.

Listen, clearly if you do any research on both the 2000/2004 elections or September 11 there are things that don't make sense.

The official stories have holes in them. Now the entire conspiracy genre if you will is people filling in the blanks because what the fuck else can they do.

The burden of proof is not only on the people asking questions it

  3. I understand the experience question. I think ultimately it takes ammo away from McCain. This is one of his first major decisions. The first qualification for being vice president should be that they are able to be president. So in effect, McCain has to give up on knocking Obama's experience or he makes himself look like a poor decision maker.

Also, Obama was born in and grew up in Hawaii, but his political life has been in the Illinois State Senate and U.S. Senate. Big difference between Governor of Alaska. The governor of Alaska has nothing to with foreign policy no matter what that the Dooster says. Shit Arizona's near Mexico. McCain/Palin should just run the f'ing UN. But seriously Alaska is removed from the rest of the US. It's a fact. I don't necessarily think being from Alaska hurts her credentials, but if they keep trying to make that a strength, it is going to fly back in their face.

Overall, I'm not sure if she's a good pick or a bad pick. For me, I think it highlights how old McCain is (which never was a problem for me before), but most importantly, I don't agree with her on much. But as for how this will play out in the election, I've learned not to make any assumptions about the American voting public.

Good points for sue, as far as policies I just assume all there politicians are asholes. The republicans know people know this so they just use scare tactics.

Romney would have been disastrous at least this pick makes things interesting. It

  4. here is the simply answer how anyone can be qualified to be president. ready...... George W. Bush

what qualifeid? I think you all forgot that evrey president and vice president have many people around them with important jobs that do all the work(scheming).

And again Obama suporters (I am one , out of hope) Palins inexpirence or w.e only highlights Obamas inexpirence which dosent matter either Im just saying your hypocrites.

  5. I think Palin was a desprate move but sort of a genuis moove its all about perception for the republicans Obama has to win, while republicans have had 8 years to corrupt the system. What happens if they steal another election? whos gunna do shit about it? Al Gore laughssssssss

  6. I've always felt that the now defunct Stylus Magazine had the best feel for reviewing Wilco, now naturally I am saying that because I happen to agree with their reviews, but they were always spot on in my opinion. Popmatters reviews are a fun read, but frankly their so laudatory I feel like I am reading an elaborate press release sometimes.

"The worst review you've ever read." Hmm... care to elaborate?

I throughly enjoyed reading your last post Panther. I think we've reached an understanding here. The great thing about this band's discography is that there's really something everybody. You dig the country sound you have AM and Being There, you like the poppy side you have Summerteeth and the easily obtainable YHF demos, you like the "sonic weight" YHF and A Ghost is Born. Everyone is ultimately right for their own reasons, except, of course, the people who think Son Volt is better.

Right on :thumbup and yea I think we have. sometimes its worth it to try

  7. Are you suggesting you have the studio recording of Let's Fight?

I do..................... just kidding I meant to put (live) actually I meant to make a better track list I was at work and looking over my shoulder.

I'll have another go , it didnt sound right when I got home I guesse your supposed to listen while making it , it dosent work off the top of your head.

  8. I added that review becuz I felt it was a good contrast to the pitchfork review. I don't like music reviews to begin with I think writers should stick to reviewing books.

Music reviews tend not give an acurate image whether good or bad so I like that the tiny mix tapes review just gives you the big picture asking questions instead of answering them.

  9. Let us know what you come with. One of my favorite Wilco discs is a AGIB/Wilco Book hybrid that Basil II put together awhile back. Sorry to sabotage the thread, but since I mentioned it, here's what he came up with...
