  1. I just listened to that show...it's from 5/10/1997 at the Fillmore, one of the best recordings out there. Lots of great banter. On that note, I just discovered the Maxwell's show from 10/25/1995 the other day too - that's a great recording. A very quiet show w/early, incomplete versions of some Being There tunes. Jeff is playing acoustic the whole time, opens with "Misunderstood" solo w/the verses out of order, Jay Bennett is very subdued in his playing, sounds like Ken Coomer's playing with brushes the whole time - like an enhanced acoustic show. Both are on Owl & Bear.
  2. Is this a joke? [the original post, I mean...Uncle Tupelo?]
  3. Agree for the most part. Gimme Fiction will always be my favorite...should never have traded away my vinyl copy of that.
  4. They were probably moshing during the punk version of "Passenger Side," which I can't stand. I think those versions just ruin it.
  5. I didn't know where else to post this, but I had to share it. At approximately 1:00 A.M. this morning I awoke from what might be the greatest dream I've ever had. My wife and I were at a Wilco concert that was taking place in the commons area of my elementary school, and there were about 25 people there...a small, private show. At one point in the show, the band decided they needed a fourth guitarist onstage, and asked if anyone in the crowd knew how to play. Of course, I was the only one in the crowd who could, and so I was invited to play. As if this opportunity wasn't exciting enoug
  6. Hilarious..."some guy named Ry Cooder." I'll bet Tweedy does a bang-up job.
  7. I got the HQ e-mail earlier this afternoon, telling me about "tomorrow's pre-sale." It's all good.
  8. 1 popped up for Bethesda/Strathmore, then it wasn't available once I clicked 'order.' Shoot! I need 2 anyway...
  9. It's a tad annoying, as is having to re-enter the verification code every time. Such is the name of the game, I suppose.
  10. ARG. I've refreshed dozens of times. More tickets for Bethesda just popped up, but when I selected them, it then said "sorry, none available." Then it kicked me out. I logged back in and it said, "no event found." Refreshed again and more tickets were available. Tried to buy and then it kicked me out.
  11. My sentiments exactly. It had to be fate that Wilco is going to be playing the region I just moved to, after playing the region I just moved from about a month after it happened.
  12. I'm getting the message now for Bethesda that there's nothing available.
  13. I can't even log in..."we appreciate your patience as we are receiving a high volume of traffic." GGGGRRRRRRRRRRRRR.
  14. Amen to that. And Kelly Hogan, Neko Case's harmonizing goddess.

  16. Oh hell yes...this makes my day. I moved out to MD from my long-time home of KCMO back in late August, and I missed Wilco returning to the Crossroads KC in October. Have been pining to see them ever since...
  17. "Tennessee Jed." I'd love to hear Wilco do this as well; there's great opportunities for harmony vocals and extended guitar work.
  18. F#dim7 is a difficult chord, and playing an F# minor is an easy substitute. Yes, I agree that the effect is a little jarring, but hey, overall, she did a pretty good job, good enough for me not to worry about nitpicking a chord.
