  1. Someone should call them and tell them they missed an opportunity with Wilco. I'm sure they haven't figured that out.
  2. Via Chicago is a place where there are no wrong opinions.
  3. "You and I" is probably my least favorite track on W(TA). I can dig "Deeper Down" but do not care for it live.
  4. Starting off with "She's a Jar" would have been a much bolder statement. I don't mind "Can't Stand It," but I think for a poppy, catchy single, "I'm Always in Love," "Nothingsevergonnastandinmyway (again)" or the title track are far superior options.
  5. Let it Be...Naked is out digitally today. The Beatles Facebook page created a "digital scavenger hunt" for people to find four different video clips from the film to "unlock" the trailer for the digital album. http://libntrail.thebeatles.com/
  6. A friend of mine from high school and college made an awesome lip-dub video on her wedding day to "Home." Quite a production to take on during your big day.
  7. I've had many of these moments. On a semi-related note, I was driving my three-month-old daughter to daycare yesterday and had disc 2 of The Beatles playing in the car. She started cooing at the exact same moment the baby babbling sound effect cuts in on "Revolution 9."
  8. What a story. Thankfully my lunch companion today was as happy as I was to hear "Squeeze Box" come over the PA at the restaurant earlier today.
  9. On a whim, some friends of mine went to a Kid Rock show a few weeks ago and said it was one heck of a rock show. Said it was impressive to watch him play guitar, drums, keys, scratch a few records and sing. And they're not really big fans.
  10. Anyone afraid of spiders? http://metro.co.uk/2013/04/03/spiders-as-big-as-your-face-discovered-in-sri-lanka-3581017/
  11. My day was so crappy I couldn't muster up a full "meh." Hence, "eh."
  12. Sounds like mix of a few borrowed lines from "Help!" and a teaser for "Theologians."
  13. Uh, The Late Greats is on AGIB, which was released more than a year before that show...
  14. According to her website, Mavis is in Toronto on June 22. It's only about six or seven hours from North Adams, so I suppose it wouldn't be impossible for her to make a surprise appearance at Solid Sound. Hey! A track from the new record:
  15. Ringo Starr John Bonham Keith Moon Glenn Kotche Ken Coomer! Elvin Jones Jimmy Cobb Carter Beauford Mike Heidorn So many others...
  16. Mortal Kombat on Sega Genesis is the best video game ever.
  17. They opened with Less Than You Think in KC last year. I too was blown away by it. Sadly many folks around my group didn't know the tune.
