  1. It's a delight. David Hildago was an incredible choice to color the numbers he's on. Bob's voice is great, sounding at times like Howlin' Wolf, the accompaniment at times hinting a big of Django ... a timeless album. Made for a perfect afternoon! I told my wife there may be a Bob Dylan album that even she would like!
  2. They've got Samardzija starting, they're not going to break him from the AAA rotation to make a middle reliever out of him this early. But thus far Cotts sucks.
  3. I'd love to find a portable soundtrack ... EDIT: going portable ... thanks!
  4. Do'h yeah. Some of those highlight reels of Sweetness -- and Barry Sanders -- picking their way or 2 yards. I used to joke that if you removed all the times Payton did that ball placement over his head a half-yard forward after he was tackled and they spotted the ball where he put it, he'd lose about 1,000 yards. That's what made him great, he scrapped for whatever he could in a team where that made all the difference. And for that Ditka gave Refrigerator the goal-line carry over Payton in the SB.
  5. True. If they would have straightened out some of his 5-yard scrambles, he would have passed Sweetness in rushing.
  6. True Garnett's on the bench, but as a veteran team in the playoffs, the Celtics should have come back Monday night and slapped the taste out of the Bulls' mouth. Instead it took a last-second shot to squeak it out. It's early in the series, but I think things go worse for the Celtics before they get better. The Bulls are home with nothing to lose -- they're not even supposed to be there afterall. Unless there's a silly implosion, I think they will take it in 7.
  7. A moderator on a mac? I'm on a MacBook Pro 2.33 GHz Intel duo. I'm usually running, mail app, itunes, and most of the CS4 suite at the same time, and in most cases it's still "warp speed Mr. Sulu."
  8. This is a great comment, because it invites the question, "what is a 'classic' rock & roll album?" given that the entire genre is based on youth, rebellion, and "primal urges" ("Roll with Me Henry"). If it stands the test of time, it means it has to have permanence beyond the youthful experience, (you "get it" even after you can't get it up) which would negate it's value to the true rock n roll experience. And a tiny atom under my fingernail could be ...
  9. Thanks! That explains who he was referring to at the Charleston show.
  10. I think beyond the setlist, a band touring with new material is approaching what they're playing differently than their most recent tours. Seeing how the new songs are received (and how, specifically, the audience reacts), where they fit (and don't fit) within a setlist, how they gel with other songs from the catalog, and just something fresh and different.
  11. Actually my anal retentive nature would say that a backup backup to the same media is not as safe as the CDs, because you're backed up to different media. But that's a buttload of CDs.
  12. Great news. That's *exactly* what I've been trying to do, consolidating onto an external drive just to see if it's doable. For my work laptop I have a pair of 320MB drives that power off the USB -- one for work and one for audio/visual files. Many thanks for the tip.
  13. Well I used to travel the Southeast a good bit and that was the only place I heard it. An assumption, sorry.
  14. O.K., so do you have to dump your files from the external onto your computer if you want to access them through iTunes? Or can iTunes' library reference the external drive without duplication? (f that makes sense)
  15. I can't speak for the current tour but I saw them three nights in a row last summer and the setlists comprised 25 percent of the songs played at all three shows, about 25 percent exclusive to one show, and about 25 percent overlap between each of the other shows. I'd say that's a pretty good job mixing things up, given a artist catalog of 100+ original songs.
  16. So you're in pre-pre-order mode?
  17. Definitely, It's a jewel for my car rides, hearing the nuances in each song. Definitely worth the price and patience to wait for the DVD!
  18. Sorry to hear about your loss. Dumb question, but doesn't your iPod back up its contents to your computer whenever it's connected?
  19. London Calling is definitely top 3 of all time. I can't imagine someone not finding *anything* on that album as a entree inviting into the entire feast.
  20. My kids drink a buttload of melk. "Irregardless" for "regardless."
  21. I picked it up in the South, and pretty quickly. The one I can't get is a Georgia expression -- "fixin' to." "I'm fixin' to go shopping as soon as I can find a buggy (shopping cart)."
