  1. Any news on whether Harrison is playing tonight? Everything that I've read, he's still a game-time decision.
  2. With so many members, this band would start to resemble the Polyphonic Spree.
  3. How filled was the place? Half capacity? 3/4? I knew that there were a bunch of tickets still up prior to the show.
  4. I don't get the allure for In A Future Age. I'd much rather hear a bunch of other songs that they rarely (if ever) play. Can someone set me straight?
  5. But isn't kind of watered down and doesn't it lose its appeal (particularly for those outside of the greater NE region) when ESPN shows all 17-18 regular-season games between the two teams? We get it -- it's a rivalry. It's like Duke basketball -- ESPN shows every Duke game. It's not hard to understand where the perception that ESPN only shows those teams comes from.
  6. Electronic? You call an arrangment of a piano, a lot of percussion, a violin, a guitar, and a bass "electronic?"
  7. First, I'm old, and I miss the days of LPs, EPs, and 7" singles [cue in "Memories" to play in background]. Second, a single to me is a new song released for radio consumption from the most-recent LP/EP (sadly, most radio stations do stick to released "singles" from albums (XRT here in Chicago is one notable exception)). But if it's an EP (as in this case), usually it's not released a mere 6 months after the LP. And that's the part that I find a little strange about the deal -- the timing. Third, if they need a "single" to promote an LP, perhaps that "single" should have been on the LP to b

  9. He could give Cleveland problems -- Cleveland doesn't hit off-speed pitches very well (and knuckleballers are tougher on left handers). I would start Beckett and have him throw 80 pitches, followed by Wakefield. Beckett could still pitch Game 7 on regular rest.
  10. After listening to this now about 20 times, I can safely rank the albums like: 1. Kid A 2. The Bends 3. OK Computer 4. In Rainbows 5. Amnesiac 6. Hail To The Thief 7. Pablo Honey And just because it's 4th in my list, it doesn't mean that In Rainbows isn't brilliant. It's more of a reflection of just how incredible Kid A, The Bends, and OK Computer are. Song rankings: 1. Nude (brilliant -- although my wife said it reminds her of a song from the Little Mermaid soundtrack) 2. House of Cards (dig the drum beat -- the violins remind me of Nels Cline's guitar effects) 3. Reckoner (I like
  11. Releasing an EP is not odd. But commercially releasing a single from it 6 months after the release of the LP is odd.
  12. So they're releasing a song that's not even on the LP (and only on a "special," belated version as a B-side) as the second single? That's bizarre.
  13. I've said this in other forums, but I can't get over how much Bodysnatchers reminds me of the National Anthem at the 1:05 mark.
  14. Standouts = Bodysnatchers, Nude, All I Need, and Reckoner. Misses = Appregi, Jigsaw, and Videotape. My God, Videotape turned into a disaster. And it was one of my favorites from last summer's tour.
  15. Scalpers have a lot of deals in place with season-ticket holders and people affiliated with the organization. Plus, a lot of people buy extra tickets solely to re-sell them to scalpers to make money.
  16. 15 Step is one of my favorites from last year's debuts. And I'm wondering which version of Down Is The New Up will surface -- the full band electric version or the acoustic one that we've heard a bunch of times. I'm assuming the plugged in version will be on there, but I'm not sure.
  17. That actually makes me feel better. As long as I'm getting another email down the line giving me download instructions, I really have no reason to freak. Plus, I already saw that the amount was deducted from my CC, so I know that the order went through.
  18. Ok. So I ordered the discbox. I'm very excited. I paid $80 for it. Then got a blank confirmation email. I guess this is classic Radiohead, where everything is non-conventional. I just assume that I'll get another email with the download instructions before next Wednesday.
  19. I've never seen Craig Ferguson before, and for a moment I thought that the closing song during the credits was Hummingbird.
  20. Not only is St. Vincent hot, but she has a fantastic voice. Her solo shows, however, leave a lot to the imagination. The effects tend to distort her voice and overwhelm the songs.

  22. The Ticketmaster apologist doesn't account for the fact that TM charges different convenience fees for differently priced tickets. If the hinderance of having to facilitate the return of the tickets for cancelled shows is how he's going to justify the convenience fees, why is there a difference in fees? After all, the cost of returning $10 tickets is the same as $100 tickets.
  23. Out of all the songs that they choose to resurrect, and they choose that one? Hmmmm . . .
