  1. Remove your spurs first.
  2. No. If they've never heard it on the radio or in church, they ignore it.
  3. Forgetting the no-hitter, is Ozzie's job literally on the line this season? And I don't mean with the fans and media. Williams spent a lot of coin this past offseason signing and re-signing players. I like Ozzie, but every manager gets canned at some point.
  4. To me the first three songs at that show are definitely sit songs, especially at the beginning of the show. If a band wants me to stand, they need to bring me to my feet.
  5. Sure we will. Right after we eliminate the Mob and clean our own streets of the gangbangers.
  6. Way to take advantage of those six walks!
  7. Setlist from Wilco's Feb. '08 show in Upper Darby, Pa. (Philly), of which I was in attendence: 1. Sunken Treasure 2. Remember The Mountain Bed 3. Airline To Heaven 4. Hesitating Beauty 5. 8. Not to mention the loonies wanting to cause trouble at the funeral or grave site and the potential for his body to be used as a ransom exchange token for terrorists. They want him, they can go fish.
  9. It's Muslim tradition to bury a body within hours after death. They're trying not to alienate the borderline Muslims, who can't decide to be peaceful or aggressive, plus now they don't have to deal with the logistics and difficulties of a funeral for a man like that.
  10. Thank you. My nephew was killed protecting a fellow soldier from a Taliban attack on 9/11, but in Afghanistan in 2008, the 7th anniversary of the great tragedy. Tonight when Mr. Obama spoke of the empty places left in the lives of family members after the attack, it hit me right in the heart. I probably won't sleep too much tonight.
  11. It only took about a decade, but finally! That bastard cost me a nephew. Where do I line up to kick him?
  12. One of my goals this summer is to get back to Philly and finally go to a game at Citizens. Last time I went back there was Feb. '08 for the snow and Wilco. While Philly is always fun, it's always a little better when you can work in a Phils game.
  13. Duh. I knew there was something familiar about what Crow was saying, just couldn't place it. I feel like a batter who looks up, waiting for the pitch that just went by.
  14. Turns out my Uncle James was killed in one of those Alabama tornadoes. His body was found 500 feet from his house. I only met the man once or twice when I was a kid, but I can't say I remember him. I'll certainly remember how he left us. R.I.P. James
  15. I'm not an Indians fan, but sometimes I listen to their games on XM just for the Tom Hamilton. Same thing for the Giants and Jon Miller.
  16. (This One Is For Our Bitchy-Ass Fans) Get Well Soon Everybody!
  17. From what we've learned, Jeff Tweedy is no longer under any influences.
  18. Is there any certain reason for the immense quantity of these storms and tornadoes the last two weeks? Is there a specific pattern holding place or is it just one of those rare occurences that happens every so many generations? Both? Neither?
  19. Dern! I musta turned lesbian after hearing it twice.
  20. I live in eastern NC and two Saturdays ago there were 60 tornadoes reported from the Raleigh area and eastward. Several counties are now listed as federal disaster areas. One Lowe's hardware store was destroyed almost entirely. Fortunately the part of the building that didn't go down was the back part where the manager took all the customers and employees for cover. There were countless homes, businesses, schools destroyed or heavily damaged. One tornado in a rural county killed 12 people, including an entire family. The closest tornado to me was a couple miles down the road, but it was a baby
  21. We should change this site's name from VC to D.C.
