I type slow, so you posted the sarcasm bit while I was pecking. I figured the hero bit was sarcasm , though

No. I figured you were just upset. If the original post you refered had beed labeled different it probably would not have been closed. You have handled it much better.

It does seem a contradiction that Wilco/Jeff Tweedy are all about openess and acceptance, yet this site discussing them has a certain cliqueishness to it. You've been here alot longer than me, and I find it interesting this comment comes from someone who's been around for a long time (no knock on you). An honest discussion about this board would probably be a real good thing ~ later. Right now there's alot going on with the DVD, W(TA) anticipation, the tour, the lawsuit, and especially with the death of Jay. Maybe now we'd be better off reflecting on each of own inner self, and wait a few mont

Grateful Dead, Jay was polarizing. I understand where your coming from, but think of the situation. It's like one of your controversial friends or co-workers died, and now is the funeral. There are still numerous people who found Jay's personality to be smothering, but loved his talent. That being said, none of them are going to show up at his funeral to give him a negative eulogy. This is a human nature. Parts of Jay's life are very sad, especially the end of it, and people want to find a positive way to deal with life's underbelly. I disagree with anybody who says your putting yourself on, b

Other than his solo work, I would imagine that Loose Fur would the last side project Tweedy would stop participating in, given his musical relationship with O'Rourke and Kotche.

Yeah, I don't think just because Tweedy wasn't on "Blood on the Slacks" (which is basically leftovers from AFD) means that he's done with GS. The side projects have major logistical issues. Not only with the Wilco members, but organizing everybody else from outside Wilco. i.e. The Jayhawks are Louris' moneymaker, just as Wilco is to Tweedy; then there's family and rest to be calculated. If any of these side projects ever end, most likely it will be from an inability to get together physically, not from desire.

I saw him in a game last year. He's one of those athletic guys who is just bigger than everybody else on the field. The hype is legit. The O's need someone like this.

W(TA) is coming out on vinyl with a cd included. Does the cd have normal packaging: liner notes, etc., or is it just in a decorated sleeve? Mostly I listen to music in the car, so vinyl doesn't do me much good; but if I can get a two-for!

Thank you for the condolences. My nephew's death was quite a shock, as he was only two months into his first deployment. His "Homecoming" procession, public viewing and funeral were both heartbreaking and amazing. Mikey lived in a small town and the support was overwhleming, and it made the hardness of the reality of death a little softer. Community support for the living and the dead are extremely helpful, but unfortunately no one understands this until the war touches you directly. I know I didn't. I also have another nephew in the Army. He's stateside now after having served in his third Ir

Why thank you! I'd like to put Glenn's face on it - gritting his teeth. I think he and Animal are related, cloned even.

Wishing everyone a great holiday today, but please take a small piece of time from your leisure to remember the purpose of Memorial Day. The American military death toll for Iraq and Afghanistan is approaching 5000, including one from my family. My nephew and namesake was shot and killed only eight months ago during a base attack in Afghanistan on September 11, 2008, the seven year anniversary of the World Trade Center tragedy. I can tell you firsthand how much of a bewildering experience it is for the families of The Fallen. My sister has lost her only child, her son, the love of her life and

And please don't "Whoo!" during the quiet, poignant spaces in the song. Save the whooping for between songs. Thank you. At the Raleigh Tweedy show in '06, Tweedy encouraged singing along, but just after one song into it, he called out a woman for singing off-key. He applauded her effort, but told her that she and he were doing two different things.

Jason Bay's home run tonight hit a Saab parked in the lot beyond the Monster. Karma and Saab do not mix well.

Okay, thanks. I didn't think that was the place as I've never noticed records in there. I'm sure I would have noticed.

Which means this thread will be open forever.

Aren't there chimes in the intro of Ashes, or are those crotales? We aren't really discussing chimes are we?
