  1. Actually it was in Philly, which is a great stadium for pitchers to be "Walken" batters. I'd use Outtasite as a Wilco entrance, but if I could pick any song I'd come up to The Wallflowers' Everybody Out of the Water. Both songs have high-energy explosive intros, and since they only play about fifteen seconds...may as well get up when going up.
  2. I seem to remember learning that Jim O'Rourke REDUCED the amount of noise on YHF, not add to it.
  3. Is this the place that holds drag queen shows?
  4. Witness. Of course, Jeff said he was just kidding (with a wink).

  7. If you tried this with Dylan's songbook, could you live long enough to finish it?
  8. Since '99 I've met three people in eastern NC who know about Wilco and know of three others (friends of friends). Tried to recruit a few people, but most have a hard time getting past the no real answer they get to their first question, "What kind of music do they play?" Got a few responses of: "Never heard of them. Must not be any good." Have actually converted a couple of people and have an old blues and rock fan on the fence (Shouldn't have started him out on "The Egg Album" ~ as he calls it.) I can, however, drive an hour-and-a-half west to Chapel Hill and find about 1000 Wilco fans! Rou
  9. I'd like My Darling better if a woman or a baritone who can sing well would cover it. This is not a song for Jeff and Bennett has the right kind of voice, but he's more suited for backup vocals than lead. Might make a good slow R&B song.
  10. The last 12 minutes of Less Than You Think Didn't like Hoodoo Voodoo until this year when they finished both concerts I went to with it. It's awesome live, but I'll probably still skip over the recorded version. It ain't the same as Pat and Nels duking it out on stage. Leave Me Like You Found Me The last couple of songs on A.M. are alright songs, but they needed a little more work (as Jeff admits to being in a rush to get the thing out asap), so I generally lose interest after Dash 7. Outtamind ~ Love Outtasite version, though!

  12. What exactly would one do in a pair of Jeff Tweedy Nike? Stand in one spot, looking down and tapping a foot? Or jog in place while holding a guitar?
  13. Thanks, but no that's not it. Although, I might use the handsome foursome shot instead!!!
  14. I'm reading that now, 100 pages left to go. I love it! Nice to see Lehane move beyond mysteries and excel.
  15. When I was dating my ex-girlfriend she brought her three-year-old daughter Rachel into see me at work. I walked right up to Rachel, put my face into hers and said, "Hey Rachel!" To which she replied, boasted really, "Im going to kick you in the balls!" You don't think about not laughing because you're caught off-guard. Rachel, of course has a teenage sister. So there you go.
  16. I need help finding a specific Wilco photo. It's from a couple of years ago and I believe it was one the band was selling (framed and autographed) for charity. It was a color shot, but it was still mostly all black and white because of the lighting. It shows just Tweedy, Stirratt and Sansone (and their guitar ends) at an angle from left to right. It's pretty much a silhoutte shot during a song. I don't want a physical copy of it. I just want to copy it from the net so I can use it as my background picture on my computer (as I did on my now defunct old computer). I've done a google image search
  17. He handled it well, though. How about his improvisation on "Walken!"
  18. It was an honest mistake. This reaction is immature and elitist, not to mention uncalled for. If are truly an artist, why are you not being introspective by calling yourself into question? I hope for your sake you are still in high school and are on the verge of out-growing this mind-set.
  19. I've been working at Food Lion for years and "Impossible Germany" is the only Wilco song I've ever heard playing in there. Perhaps they have different music providers for different areas. Today on XM's baseball channel, the Fantasy Focus show used "Casino Queen" during the intro.
  20. I used to live there. Great town with lots of potential, but there aren't enough people down there due to lack of nightlife. Now I'd be scared to walk around in the daytime. Would you want to walk around ANY Amtrak station area at night?
  21. When the Ripken Bros.' weekly XM Radio show first launched, the commercial for it was Cal reflecting on his streak ~ and the background music was: the intro to "War on War." On a side note: Cal doesn't know "Achey, Breaky Heart," but he knows "Gold Digger!" Sorry, I just think that's funny, considering his clean-cut image.
  22. I know. Why can't they interrupt Bryan Adams instead?
  23. Let's go both ways on this! ~ "Not that there's anything wrong with that."
