  1. I've argued this many times. Glad someone else has the balls to say it. I'll take Ray's catalogue over Lennon/McCartney's anyday.
  2. It's egotistical to not want your music to leak before it's supposed to be out?
  3. Well than Merge should send messages to every other label around and give them step by step instructions of what they did to keep this album from leaking. I'm impressed. Disappointed, but that's just impatience speaking. Course it'll all be moot once it streams online, and the rip of the stream is sent around.
  4. No, like I said, Homme/Rhys get my (non-existent because they aren't in the poll) vote. But I certainly can't argue with Jeff as one of the most prolific artists of the decade. Maybe it's just my tendency to look too deep into word choices (especially the word alone implying...alone), but to me, it was saying that YHF was the only album taken into consideration. Obviously, if there's a stalemate, one should choose the prolific artist that was also the best. We all know prolific and good are not one and the same. So using YHF to break a tie between Jeff and whoever is fine, but I didn't get t
  5. Well, with all the demos and such, I can see the argument now. But to me, the thread is about the entire body of work. If YHF was Jeff's only album of the decade, even with all the demos, that hardly qualifies him as one of the most prolific artists of the decade. That's how I see it by saying "I choose Jeff for YHF alone." Obviously count everything else in, and I'd agree, although my vote still goes to Josh Homme and Gruff Rhys.
  6. Fair enough. I can see that. But in the context of this thread, I can't see how that can be an explanation. Jeff is a decent vote for all the albums he's done this decade, beyond YHF.
  7. It does seem good. I know venues do it for the extremely high demand shows. But I'd never seen that.
  8. Yea, every definition of prolific i've seen has included words like many, plentiful, abundant. I just don't see how one album, unless it was 36 hours long, can be enough to make someone the most prolific artist of the decade.
  9. I've never seen will call as the only delivery option. But my ticket came to $39.50, so I have nothing to complain about.
  10. I refreshed at 9:58 for the Richmond show, and the link to buy them as there. So I'm set.
  11. You voted for Jeff as the most prolific artist of the decade based on one album? Am I missing something here?
  12. Gruff Rhys: Six SFA albums, two solo albums and the Neon Neon album. Josh Homme: Four QOTSA albums, TCV album, three Eagles of Death Metal albums, four Desert Sessions albums, production for the Arctic Monkeys and probably other production work I'm forgetting. Dave Grohl: Four Foo Fighters albums, TCV, Probot, and countless appearances on other albums. Those all qualify as damn prolific to me.
  13. Wilco should do a funk album. Lots of organ, and wah-wah and percussion.
  14. In all seriousness, if they teamed up with the Roots, I'd want them to bust out something incredible. Not a Wilco song. Something where everyone involved can show off. Between those two bands you have two of the very best at just about every instrument. Imagine the drumming.... When I saw the Roots, they played snippets of Zeppelin, GnR, Parliament, Prince, and all sorts of good stuff. Given all I've read about ?uestlove's music fandom, they can find common ground with just about anyone. This is all pointless dreaming, of course, since it likely won't happen. But imagine Wilco and the Roots
  15. Nice. I'll hold out hope for Wilco to play on Fallon, despite my hating him, so that they can do a giant performance with the Roots. Or not.
  16. If a changed chord makes a difference in what someone thinks of the song, then how is that being a snob to point it out?
  17. Again, not a Mayer fan myself, but Daughters and Your Body Is A Wonderland are not indicators of his talent. Sadly, he does have many songs like those, but his albums have several quite good songs. This forum isn't really in his target audience, so it's no surprise. As for his guitar playing, I'm no blues expert, or even much of a fan of it, but he's got some skill. It's kind of strange; he releases soft, albeit lame, romantic pop songs, yet he's gotten a fair amount of respect from people like Clapton for his guitar playing. I've seen a few concert clips, and, when he wants to, he can reall
  18. Pre-sale Wednesday. Real sale Friday. Needless to say, I'm psyched.
  19. Well, a block is a bit of an exaggeration. But I live on Grace St, near Belvidere. It's not a long walk to the National at all. As long as I can get in at 10 and get my ticket online, I'll be fine.
  20. Yea. Ordinarily I live a block away from the National. But I'm home in Manassas for break, so I'll be relying on the internet, and hoping I can get a friend in Richmond to go to the venue for me.
