And the tour EP
-
Wow, I enjoyed the hell out of that. Amazing musicians, can't imagine how fun that would be to play.
-
And the first Robbie Robertson solo album.

When Nels hits that first note for the solo in Impossible Germany. The B over the G chord. Nothing like playing the third to give it just that little bit of tension. Then add that right hand vibrato. Love that.

Happy belated birthday!

Pollard to score Pete Rose documentary Interesting.

This surprises me. I think Real emotional trash is right up there with the Pavement stuff.

Plus I tend to wonder where that lemon has been sitting and who has touched it, I'm doubting they get a good cleaning before they cut them up and stick them in your water.

How do you buy music? (isues, quality, quantity)
Moss replied to Vacant Horizon's topic in Someone Else's Song
Yeah, I don't know how that Soundscan works. Since the only places that really sell vinyl are the few remaining indy record stores they must be tied in somehow. I know best buy has a few but they would not have been part of record store day. I realize they are only measuring sales of new vinyl so it makes you wonder how much used vinyl is being sold these days since I assume most of that is sold at flea markets and garage sales still. The guys at the place I go to are super nice and helpful. The place is the size of a closet with just random stacks of stuff everywhere. It's right across -
That is really cool. I like how instantly identifiable that leg is!

Supergrass always put a smile on my face.

I still buy tons of CD's but am also buying more vinyl lately because I finally got my needle replaced. It's tough because the only independent record store nearby charges way more than Amazon on just about everything. But I still end up buying from them because they are so damn cool and knowledgeable and obviously huge music geeks, and I hate the thought of them not being around. They have been there since I was a wee lad. I figure I'm paying for the convenience of not having to wait for stuff, their recommendations, the smell of the place, the ability to paw through their vast vinyl stacks h -
Cleveland still looks like the team to beat although Orlando could be dangerous. Stupid Nuggets.

Vinyl still seems to be growing in popularity: -
I love the way the drums come in on Handshake drugs.

Actually I'm not that sure! I was pretty distracted by the video. The song just seemed kind of psychedelic or something, I didn't really think of it as punky. Maybe I should listen again. There is something I like about MIA, seems a cut above a lot of the stuff in that genre but then again, I am a very casual listener.
-
Whoa, the new MIA video streaming on Pitchfork is quite graphic. I like the song though.

Leaf Blowers, hate them.

Great show last night and you are right, pretty rockin'. They make a lot of noise for a 3 piece. Made me like the album even more hearing it that way. Opening band "Phantogram" was also surpisingly good.

I'll be in Minnesota the first week of June. Don't really have an agenda yet. Would like to see a show at First Ave., Hit Surly brewing or whatever else might be good. Spending a night in Duluth I think (visiting some kind of lighthouse). A twins game, that's a great idea. I need to check if they will be in town!

Man, people sure get touchy about parking spaces. I have seen people come to blows more than once over that. I hate when I have a mutant hair on the end of my nose that I can see out of the corner of my eye.
