  2. Oh yeah, I forgot about that one. Not sure it was creepy so much as just made me feel like I needed a shower.
  3. Now I'm just building it up in my mind to something big.
  4. The drummer in my band wants to borrow my Paul McCartney to play around with, he's trying to learn how to play it.
  5. I stand corrected, Jesus Camp was the creepiest, good call.
  6. I agree Paul could have done with some self editing, I think writing songs comes somewhat easy to him and some of his solo work comes across as just quickly dashed off. I guess I give him credit for not crumbling under the weight of his legacy and being willing to put something out there that he knows people are going to criticize. He certainly has not cranked out the solo material and he is obvioulsy not in it for the money at this point. He's a songwriter, that's what he does. Sometimes the stars align and you put something out people love, sometimes not. Robert Pollard, Paul Westerberg
  7. Jeff collaborates on a new project with Robert Pollard or Paul Westerberg. A body can dream.
  8. Huge impact on the nation, he will be missed.
  9. I'm actually very excited about the Dylan Christmas album.
  10. Not even close for me, this is the creepiest movie I have seen by far. To this day if I hear a strange noise while playing guitar in the basement, scenes from this movie are what come to mind.
  11. Ok, I have to admit, compared to the Wire I didn't love Bottle rocket, I just liked it. The Wire is the most amazing thing ever on television.
  12. Tinariwen are pretty amazing, the latest issue of Mojo has an Africa disc that really impressed me, particularly these guys.
  13. He did the same thing with the Super Furry Animals, chewing celery as well. I love "Coming Up", I love "With a little luck", hell, I even love "Silly love songs". I don't think you have to be a Paul guy or a John guy. I don't think Paul has ever been clownish. He's written the most amazing songs and he's written complete crap. That's going to happen when you right songs for 50 years. Imagine being in the public eye at that level of fame for that long and not becoming a complete douchebag. It rarely happens. I'm pretty much the guy that likes and gets along with everyone so I identify
  14. And take a little walk when the worst is to come When I saw you looking like I never thought And say you're at a loss or forgot that words can do more than harm The town is gonna talk, but these people do not See things through to the very minimal But what's it gonna cost to be gone? If we see you like I hoped we never would When eyes can't look at you any other way, Any other way, any other way When eyes can't look at you any other way, Any other way, any other way So take it as a song or a lesson to learn And sometime soon be better than you were If you say you're gonna go, then be car
  15. It does seem like an easier sell to say you prefer John over Paul for some reason. Apparently it's not as "Cool" to prefer Paul. I don't see how Paul has become a Clown at all. John obviously helped Paul's music out, whether as much as the reverse? Who knows. All I know is John added some amazing harmonies to Hey Jude. It seemed like maybe Paul had his songs more fleshed out or at least knew what he wanted before it even got to the others. John was maybe a little more willing to experiment or change directions which Paul certainly could help with.
  16. Happy Birthday Jeff! And Elvis Costello as well!
  17. Wow, I could never put a list like that together for any band. I think I'm going to print it and start going down the list.
  18. You got another thing coming by Judas Priest worked when I was a teenager. Now I put on Bon Iver or something to mellow me out.
  19. For some reason I can listen to endless talk and read articles about the Beatles break up but the Jeff/Jay thing is not that exciting to me. To be honest, I just don't put Jay at Jeff's level as a songwriter. He was a key member of the band but has proven quite replaceable. I like AGIB better than anything pre-YHF, I know I'm in the minority. I think Paul gets a bad rap in the Beatles break up sometimes. Certainly you can't fault him for not wanting to have Klein representing him, the guy was a scumbag (with all due respect). That seemed to be one of the main things that angered the ot
  20. You never know this could be a real find, looking forward to hearing what it is. Maybe some Dylan or Beatles cover, a fantastic version of Voodoo Chile, the mind boggles at the possibilities.
  21. Thanks for the link, I didn't get to see it this morning. Pretty much what I expected, a very non in depth but enjoyable piece.
  22. Yay, somehow I have not heard any spoilers and I just got the final season from Netflix. So looking forward to it.
  23. Just got my Omnisonic in the mail yesterday in time for band practice tonight. Looking forward to trying it out. I pretty much just run the clean channel on my Deville as I get the sound I like out of that so this thing should be perfect. Thanks for the tip.
