It's my wife's favorite Wilco song so you just never know. I love it. When that heavy part kicks in it makes it all worthwhile. Jason Isbell is quoting that song in the middle of "Never gonna change" so I'm sure he must agree.

Pixies' Doolittle 20th anniversary tour

Our band decided tonight to cover monkey gone to heaven. I could not be more excited. -
Pizzicatto 5 or maybe

That really is good, it was a real grower for me. It's in my top 5 for the year I think. Now playing:

I had a feeling that's the case for many people. I am a huge McCartney fan and that is an ugly song. It's just got some amazing slide work from George and a great groove. I definitely hear what you are saying but it was an honest reaction to what he perceived as slights from Paul and as a scathing attack I think it succeeds. I figure they got over it so what the heck.

That is a dark book. It rivals "the Road" for sheer bleakness.

Lists like this stress me out so I'm just going with the ones that come to mind without a ton of thought: 1. Beware of Darkness 2. Band on the Run 3. Watching the Wheels 4. With a little luck 5. Beautiful Boy 6. My Love 7. How do you sleep 8. I'd have you anytime 9. God 10. All those years ago Surprised "How do you Sleep" is not more popular on the lists.

If there is a more amazing guitar song than Machine gun I have not heard it.

Just got this in the mail today, was about $130. I'm hoping it works alright. I plan to record directly into Sonar version 8. All this talk of software not working has me worried.

You have to go with Cat's Cradle at some point. One of my faves. Actually Welcome to the Monkey house is really good and not like his other books. A bunch of short stories that are written in a more "standard" style than his usual prose.

Starbuck! It's worth it just for the xylophone solo guy with the shirt open to his navel, he rocked it though.

Now you are just talking crazy.

It makes sense to me to cover something like Oar as opposed to say the White Album. At least with Oar you have a chance of coming up with something that is better than the original.

So pitchfork gives Josephine a 5.6 and MOJO gives it 4 stars, who am I to believe?

Actually I'm listening to Surfer Rosa but not sure the picture was acceptable.

In case some of you don't have this, it's quite accurate (from what I can tell). Still available at Amazon for about $15. http://www.amazon.com/Wilco-Sky-Blue/dp/1603780262/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1248236763&sr=8-2 Anybody know if they are coming out with one for the new album?

It was not great all the way through, but there were parts that had me laughing so hard it hurt. The guy is fearless.

I would not miss Hard to Handle at all, it was never one of my favorites that they did. Of course I played it in a band for a long time and really got burned out on it. I have to agree, it's hard to get used to ed being gone, I liked what he brought to the group more than Adam.

There is some good stuff on there, I like "Wounded Bird" quite a bit. Black Crowes are still my go to band when I want to hear some more straight ahead rock and roll, especially when I have been listening to a lot of mellow stuff. I'm worried the next album will be too mellow but we will see.

Only 99 cents used so what the hell. I also picked up some vinyl that would fit in the guilty pleasures thread.

I'm looking forward to the next one as well after hearing the rough cuts of the show. I wonder if Levon will be a guest on any tracks.

I believe it was recorded on all Analog equipment, that's why it sounds so good.
