Just saw them last night at Red Rocks, opening band "The Whigs". Some thoughts: The ratio of Female to Male concert goers was much higher than most concerts I have been to.They have a massive guitar sound, real heavy and chunky, good guitar tones in general.Caleb does have an amazing voiceThey were much louder than WilcoI have never been to a concert at red rocks where they did not allow you to bring in blankets or water bottles, that was a bunch of crap. 3. I absolutely love Cheap Trick but have not been that interested in any of their releases in a long, long time. I may have to check this out, and Rockford as well.
  4. I suppose I agree with Pitchfork on this one and give (The Album) the edge although they are both really good.
  5. Queens of the stone age - "Feel good hit of the summer" ("Nicotine, valium, vicoden, marijuana, ecstasy and alcohol...C C C Cocaine!") Gogol Bordello - "Alcohol" Lit - "My own worst enemy" Green Day - "Jesus of Suburbia" Beck - "Alcohol" Guns and Roses - "Nightrain"
  6. The next guy may think twice about plunking Fielder however.
  7. I loved the Bears. I was surprised they were not more popular in their day. Experimental but pretty accessible and catchy.
  8. I'm definitely jealous. Would love to have seen that.
  9. I'm just disappointed you did not go deep in to the Juice Newton oeuvre.

I just sat in Borders the other day and read the article. I can't be reading another whole music magazine. I already get Rolling Stone and Mojo.
  11. I bought one of the "Wilco loves you baby" shirts at the Red Rocks show for a friend so I know at least those are available.
  12. I remember that show, I think Beck was on that same episode. Was that the same show Jules Holland hosted? It's confused in my mind but I do remember it. Why are there no shows like that on now?
  13. On the same subject, this is really good: John Stewart Leibowitz
  14. Any list without "Harborcoat" is flawed.
  15. America sure got screwed over when it comes to Beatles releases. So there is no option to mix and match Mono and Stereo at a reduced price? That would be perfect.
  16. Wow. Not bad at all. Laminated Cat could have done with some editing.
  17. Enjoying this quite quite a bit. "She had curves like a Pennsylvania road..."
  18. Very cool, I pretty much love everything Roald Dahl did.
  19. What a great album. I just learned that "heavy and hanging" was written about Curt Kobains death and was written around that time. Amazing stuff.
  20. That is awesome! I like the little squeak he does, isn't that from the Phantom of the park movie?
