  1. Strange book but I'm enjoying it. Kind of cyberpunky:
  2. Well the new Low produced by Tweedy is one of them. You can preview one of the songs here: http://stereogum.com/1227112/low-plastic-cup/mp3s/ Also really looking forward to Deerhunter and Yo La Tengo among others.
  3. It sure is. And I couldn't put it down!
  4. Congrats! I got that Wilco loves you baby for a friend when they had their first.
  5. Agreed. I thought the entire show was really good. Watched it again the next day!
  6. Apparently 6 packs of Trappist beer Westvleteren XII sold out in minutes here in Boulder at $85 a six pack. It better be damn good.
  7. Liking it more than I thought I would. I'm usually not a fan of that kind of style (Sadiiq is about as close as I usually get to R& but he writes some amazing songs. Very clever lyrics, some unique musical textures, quite a variety in styles, amazing falsetto. Not something I will probably return to a bunch but very impressive and I think at least somewhat justifies the hype.
  8. Had to see what the hype was about.
  9. Nah, stupid work got in the way of my ticket buying. I meant to excuse myself from a meeting but blew it. Gratz on getting them. I will plan to see them in Broomfield as usual. Ok, maybe we blame rap for Limp Bizkit and take away a few points.
  10. I am completely fine with Rappers being in the rock and roll museum as I do think they have had a big influence on rock music. Rage against the machine, Linkin Park, Blondie, The Clash, and most importantly Limp Bizkit. Now when the hell are they going to induct Schooly D?
  11. Sounds like that will probably happen. Apparently there are some versions of the songs on the current album that are way more "produced" and she pushed for the more bare bones versions to be on the album (against record company wishes). I thought Eddie sounded good on comfortably Numb. Roger was maybe a bit off but I liked it over all.
  12. Primus, Smashing Pumpkins, Metallica, and about a million bedroom musicians.
  13. I don't lose sleep over it. But call it the music hall of fame or something if there is no real boundary. I think Rush easily deserves a spot. Huge influence on people learning to play bass, guitar, and drums.
  14. Hell, put him in the Rock and roll hall of fame. There seems to be no limit to how wide the umbrella is. Country, Rap, R&B, Disco, it's all rock and roll!
  15. So I know this is not exactly what is being talked about but I see Sir Paul is going to be on SNL this Saturday. Please, in the name of all that is holy, don't let him play Hey Jude or Let it Be yet again. Something really cool is in order. Like a solo acoustic performance of "I Will" or "Junk". Something you would not expect to hear would be nice.
  16. Ok, not so much heard while out and about. But while I was getting my haircut, I saw a guy that was the spitting image of Jeff circa Uncle Tupelo.
  17. Between Pete Townsend and Ronnie Lane, Baba inspired some pretty good music. Then again there was also "Don't worry, be happy".
  18. I remain cautiously optimistic but that is kind of my expectation as well.
  19. I'm hoping the Ogden's nut gone flake remaster bonus addition will appear under the x-mas tree this year although not sure how the sound is on it. All I have is the first album right now. I have always been a bigger fan of the Faces.
