  1. Prior to Delta Spirit taking the stage last night, they played most of the whole love album over the sound system.
  2. I just finished reading a Lester Bangs book where this was talked about. Apparently Lou Reed claims he put in bits of Beethoven and things in there but it's all noise to me.
  3. Santigold - Master of my make believe
  4. 5 stars in MOJO, looking forward to hearing it.
  5. RE: Buck Owens: Yeah, I'm afraid to open it to get the download card out as it looks like it could rip the book, not even sure what the download card is for. But now it's hidden behind the CD case so no worry. I kind of regret passing up on the Miles as well. Passed on the Devo which I had planned to buy also. I had the white stripes 7" in my hand as well but put it back. $12 seemed like too much for a 7". I need to quit being such a cheap bastard.
  6. Really? Thought I would display mine on top of my CD cabinet. It promptly fell down behind and I'm not sure how I will get it out. Maybe when I move in a few years it will be a nice surprise.
  7. Got there about 45 minutes early, was 180th in line. Amazing, gets bigger every year. Got tons of good stuff. Had the Uncle Tupelo 7 inches in my hand the entire time, then bailed on it while waiting in line to pay. Just could not bring myself to pay $45 for it. I did pick up Lee Hazlewood, the Buck Owens coloring book, Social Distortion colored vinyl, live knack, and some other stuff. Ended up spending about $200.
  8. April: Garbage May: Delta Spirit, Shins June: Wilco for 2 nights (Openers: Punch brothers 1 night, Dr. Dog 1 night) September: Further at Red Rocks
  9. On Sunday I went to a 2 hour lecture at the University of Colorado called "Looking through a glass onion - Deconstructing the Beatles white album". I have to say, if you get the chance to see one of Scott Freiman's lectures, go for it. I found it entertaining as hell. I had certainly heard a lot of the stories he told but he did have plenty of fresh information I didn't know. Plus he goes through various tracks and strips them down to just bass/drums, or guitar, or vocals, etc... I could have sat there another 4 hours easy. Here is the website: http://beatleslectures.com/
  10. He really should apologize for both his statements, and for his role in Damn Yankees.
  11. Terrible. Just finished "This wheels on fire" not long ago. What a life and what a cool guy.
  12. Man, I wore out Double live Gonzo when I was about 13. Had no idea at the time Nuge was such a complete Dick back then. Although apparently my parents knew since they yelled at me to turn it down constantly.
  13. This cracks me up: Can't help thinking about the Lester Bangs "Screwing the system with Dick Clark". RIP
  14. I work with a girl whose roller name is "Misty Molish" My favorite roller name of all time: "Honey punches of throats".
  15. Spiritualized - Sweet heart sweet light
  16. ^^^^^^ That was not half bad. Looks like his dad but sounds more like Lennon.
  17. That's what makes this tough for me. What the hell does underrated mean? Underratted by who? Pretty much everyone one on this list is not underrated to the person who listed them.
  18. I have never owned a Marshall but there is no denying the huge influence they had on rock music. The tones Hendrix was able to get says it all.
  19. Well if it's anything like last year, the pitchers are going to have to hold the other teams to about 1 run.

    Red Rocks

There is a roped off area where the soundboard is, around row 15 or something. Pretty nice seats as you are sitting next to the soundboard (not behind it or anything). It's nice and roomy typically as they don't usually pack people in there. Plenty of room to dance.

    Red Rocks

Red Rocks does change every time. For most shows the general admission is up front, roughly rows 1 - 24. Then you have a large reserved section in the middle. Then it becomes general admission in the back again. Either way, I got row 25 seats 55 - 58 for night 2! Didn't get night #1 but will try for those tomorrow.
