You don't really think corporations in this country actually pay that rate do you? Maybe a few with really bad accountants...

Looks like Gaz Coombes has an album coming out in May. Listed at $31 on Amazon right now for some reason (import I guess). I wonder if it will be released in the U.S.? Checking this out now, thanks for the link.

Ooh, think I'll pull that one out today myself. Been awhile.

What does your upcoming concert schedule look like?

One of my favorite bands ever. Get well soon Slim! -
I'm hoping Jeremy Lin signs with the Rockies.

I think that is partly true, but nobody made him appoint the same Goldman Sachs toadies, Rahm Emmanual, etc... The game is so rigged and they like it that way, it's profitible and keeps them in office. I was an Obama delegate and a huge believer but as usual, I'm disillusioned and now realize nothing is going to change. To Iremberdboon's point, there are some social issue gains that make Obama a better choice than any republican pinhead but as far as the economy goes, not sure it matters who is in office.

I remember John Stewart talking about someone with ideals becoming president. He gets sworn in and starts making plans to change things. Then he gets taken in a back room and the people that actually run the country are there saying something along the lines of "ok, this is the way it really works". I'm starting to think there is much truth to that. Although it could be the fact that I'm reading "Griftopia" by Matt Taibbi right now and it's actually scarier than Salems lot.

Yeah. Why they thought it was a good idea to release "Tattoo" as the first single is beyond me as it's the worst thing on the album.

Ok, his daddy bought him a small share (and a job) with the baseball team after he ran the previous company his dad bought for him in to the ground. Whatever.
-
Yeah well, his daddy did buy him a baseball team at one point.

It really should have been called "Warren Haynes and friends" as he pretty much dominated the show. But I loved the show either way. I though John Scofield fit in really well. They did a great Dark Star> I am the Walrus > Dark Star. Also did "She said, She said" as well earlier in the show. Amazing musicians, sounded like they had all been playing together for 20 years. Now I really wish I would have got tickets for tonight as well. Hoping someone will post the show at CO.Tapers. On another note, there was a young lady standing next to me that had smuggled in a full quart of Jac

I would tend to agree that both parties are servants to corporations and fiscally irresponsible. At this point for me it's things like the Environment, health care, abortion, gay rights... that put me squarely in the democrat camp.

So I have something to admit that is both sad and funny

That is a great book. Very Dickensian or whatever the word is. Loved it.

What is amazing to me is that we spent trillions to bail out Merril Lynch, Goldman Sachs, etc... but the tea partiers threw a fit about spending a few million to keep people from getting foreclosed on because they "got in above their heads" or whatever. Pathetic. The 20 people that run this country know what they are doing. Keep us fighting the other side while they steal us blind.

That is not a blind spot, that is just good common sense.

I remember reading somewhere that it's an electric Sitar, there is no way he played that on a real sitar. Something like this:

The Sitar solo is a wonder of nature. Always blows me away. I know it was not done on a real Sitar or anything but the phrasing on it is just perfect.
-
Incredible. I can't imagine trying to troubleshoot a bad cord in there.
