Maybe I'm a bit early on this thread but I look forward to this every year. Looks like Iggy Pop is the ambassador this year. I missed out on the Big Star album by showing up late last year. I won't make the mistake of being late this year. http://www.recordstoreday.com/Home

Pretty cool, cover of Gil Scott-Heron

Whoa, saw this just in time, thanks!

I have to admit I'm stumped. You talking about Caribou Ranch or somewhere else? That does look very familiar.
-
Nice work, that sounded great. I am trying to talk the band in to submitting something. We already do Cold rain and snow, New Minglewood blues, Fire on the Mountain, Eyes of the world, I know you rider, and a few others. Just need to get something on video.

Made this too easy:

Me too, listening to it now.

I used to win tons of stuff. My old job allowed me to sit in a lab all day mixing chemicals and listening to the radio all day long. I had all the contests memorized throughout the day. Best thing I won was probably an 8 CD capitol records box set but I have also won CD's, concert tickets, a giant cardboard Beatles cut out. It's amazing how a simple trivia question or "how are these songs connected" contest weeds people out. Sadly my current job does not allow for that. My only hope is the "much too early for a question" or "stump the sage" contests on my way to work. The stump the sage

This one is coming in February. MOJO gave it 5 stars. Really looking forward to hearing it.

Nice work. And I agree, Fair warning is probably their best.

Derry DeBorja from Jason Isbell and the 400 unit was using the Nord Electro 2 as well. Seems to be a popular keyboard. I'm still toying with the idea of getting a keyboard myself but can't seem to pull the trigger yet.

There is this place if you have any video. Look forward to checking out your stuff (after the Bronco game of course). http://viachicago.org/topic/44612-vcers-bands-on-you-tube/page__fromsearch__1

Watch out for the words "In perpetuity".
-
There is an exhaustive analysis of the song here, including whether the charcters were real, whether the words are really "Take a load of Fanny" instead of "Annie", who was involved in writing the song. I think it's a good case of someone over interpreting lyrics but it's an interesting read. Seems like if you dig deep enough in any obscure lyrics, they can be made to refer to the spread of VD: http://theband.hiof....ight_viney.html

Great video, and I actually never get tired of that song. I'm going to have to hunt down that Life during wartime, they do Slippery people so well.
-
They are way less of a band without Anthony. That guys harmonies were such a huge factor in the band sound.

I took the day off work! Think I will hit the guitar store followed by an afternoon at Boulder Beer drinking Mojo!
-
Just found out the dog that howls through "Seamus" was owned by Steve Marriot. Think I will store that away and stump the sage on the local radio station.

Thanks for the kind words but I kind of feel like I brought things down so let me just say, this is one of the cutest damn pictures I have ever seen. What breed is that? I would give a days pay to nuzzle that muzzle.

This thread is stressing me out. I'm still catching up on 2011 releases! Some of the ones I am looking forward to: Guided by Voices Black Sabbath The Cribs Soundgarden Pearl Jam Rush Would love a new Beach House but have not heard that they are planning a 2012 release.

Pretty bad. I had low expectations and they were not exceeded. Even the guitar solo seemed kind of lame, like someone doing a good impersonation of Eddie. What happened to his guitar tone? Guess he lost the ability to write another Women in Love or Little Dreamer a long time ago.

So apparently there is a new Van Halen song/video on YouTube called "Tattoo". Unfortunately I have YouTube blocked here at work. Anybody heard it yet? Thoughts?

So bummed right now, we had to put our cat Emma to sleep today. The one on the right with the smashed face. She was spoiled and treated like a queen and had a great life and we loved her. Funny how attached you can get. Breaks my heart that her little basket next to the computer is empty. They never live long enough but I guess that's part of the bargain you sign up for when you adopt them. I hope this didn't bring the mood down, pets are wonderful and worth every second.

Fortunately my aversion to technology and cheapness has spared me most of this kind of pain. But I have to admit, every time I think about upgrading to a better internet connection or something, these are the kind of stories that keep me from doing it. I finally upgraded to getting a DVR from Comcast but I drove to their office and picked it up and did everything myself. Is it the lack of competition that allows some of these companies to have such shitty service?
