In this particular case I don't have strong feelings. I agree that a chain falling off is much different than if maybe a fan jumped out and interfered or something like that. Keeping your bike in good condition is part of the competition and if your bike fails, maybe you should lose. I'm not a close enough follower of the sport to really know. One of those unwritten rules that seem to be disappearing in sports. I know some people think they are silly but I am starting to miss them more and more. Sportsmanship in general seems to be rapidly going away. There used to be an attitude of wanting to win because you were the best rider on that day, not because somebody's chain fell off. I guess on the other hand, this gives the other riders a green light to take advantage of any misfortune Contador has.

In the Keith Moon book I'm reading they talk quite a bit about him hanging out with Nilsson and Ringo. Sounds like Nilsson could be a pretty crazy bastard himself. NP:

Yeah, i'm about half way through and it is pretty much junk but entertaining. Kind of like "then we got drunk and took a bunch of various medicines, shagged some birds, got in the car and wrecked, the police let us go so we started drinking brandy...." over and over. I do get a kick out of the writing though, it's very, very British.

I work for a company that sponsors the Tour of California and also manufactures the prime drug used for cheating (I'm sure you could figure it out from that), some people consider it a bit of a conflict of interest but I don't. Either way, it has opened my eyes to the sport so I casually follow it. I think tomorrow is the big hill climb which I always enjoy. I can't even fathom the legs it takes to do something like that. I already have the Replacements remasters, not all that impressed with them. Actually I just want them to unearth a bunch of unheard stuff and put it in a nice tidy package, like the Big Star Box set so never mind. I'm not sure I want anything re-mastered, I hate rebuying stuff over and over.

I would like a big remastered Replacements Box set with all sorts of uncovered demos and unheard songs. Heck, throw in a Westerberg Box set as well.

Sorry, I'm sure I saw it. Usually when an album is really good you get at least a few people posting about it. Even if one person raves about an album I tend to want to hear it.

I saw them open for somebody, (Supergrass maybe?) and they were one of the best opening bands I have ever seen. I know they lost one of their original guitarists since then.

It's great to see I'm not the only one that really likes the Ariel Pink album. I had not really heard anybody mention it. Beach House is still my number 1 for the year and definitely my fave by them. That one just gets better with each listen. Band of Horses I did not like on first listen but it has really grown on me as well. The melodies are just undeniable.
