Pete Doherty moves in with Shane MacGowan
gogo replied to Sir Stewart's topic in Someone Else's Song
Ouch. Yeah, I'm not holding out high hopes for this. A few years ago, a friend of mine who'd been living here for a while moved back to London, and ended up moving into a flat that had been recently vacated by Shane McGowan. He had broken the lease, it was for a year, and he'd taken off after six months. So she spent a lot of time sending Shane McGowan's past-due notices from different utilities, collection agencies, etc., back to the senders. Her rental agent eventually faxed her a copy of Shane's cancelled lease agreement, so that she could show that one, along with her own, to prove t -
It's a constant battle at home, someone is always replacing a picture of someone else's obsession with their own latest obsession. But at work, I'm in charge!!! Cuties, one and all!

OK, I recognize two of those people. Names, please! You need to find one with a bunch of blank space behind them.

For a while I had this, and I really liked it: But I took this on Sunday, it was such a lovely day and it makes me happy to see it while I'm at work, so this is the new one:

One of my sisters was going to take our nieces and nephew out to dinner, and when she called to talk to them about it, the nephew requested Olive Garden, because: "mmmm... bweadsticks..."

Don't see you around much anymore, Julie, you're missed!

A few months ago, I saw Arcade Fire with a woman who was a week overdue, and having contractions! She kept insisting that because the contractions weren't at regular intervals they didn't count, and I guess she was right, because she didn't have the baby until several days later. We were planning to sit on the lawn, close to an exit, anyway, but we still arrived at just about the time they took the stage, and left before the encore. Partly because we didn't want to get stuck in a ton of traffic leaving the show (just in case!), and partly because that was just all she could take, she was

Post it! Post it!!! That sounds like something that should definitely end up in the on-line store. Oh, and the magnets, too!

Believe it or not, I don't think that's the same "..."

It's an outrage!

These were some of the parts that interested/amused/disturbed me:

I have never heard of this street before, but today I drove past the exit for it off of the 210! Also: Father Peter C. Yorke Way.

Hi, check out the forum just below "Just a Fan", it's called "Someone Else's Song", and it's for all non-Wilco music news. There is a thread on this topic going on down there.

I was late getting to this, but it's a pretty interesting (and lengthy) article on how Columbia hired Rick Rubin, hoping that he'll somehow save the record business. September 2, 2007 The Music Man By LYNN HIRSCHBERG Rick Rubin is listening. A song by a new band called the Gossip is playing, and he is concentrating. He appears to be in a trance. His eyes are tightly closed and he is swaying back and forth to the beat, trying at once to hear what is right and wrong about the music. Rubin, who resembles a medium-size bear with a long, gray beard, is curled into the corner of a tufted velv

Dave Eggers as sort of like a saint of sorts
gogo replied to Good Old Neon's topic in Tongue-Tied Lightning
826 Valencia (and the other 826s, I'm sure) also provides after-school tutoring on a drop-in basis. It's a fantastic program. Yep, and from the NYC show, too. I'm with you on the Eggers thing. Not a huge fan of his writing, but a huge fan of him and what he does. Check out the links to the other 826s, they've all got cool storefronts. I'm most familiar with the pirate store, but I've also been in the superhero supply store in Brooklyn, which is also very cool. -
It does. Thank you.

If the contest had gone just one week longer, I think I would have had a chance: OK, so maybe not.
