Almost 40, but still younger than bjorn.

How about ?

And of course, once you've hit Page Six, it's all downhill from there.

They really do seem like nice people. Glen asked this girl up to dance with them towards the end of the set, and then her mother said that outside, after the show, he played tag with her all up and down the sidewalk. The venue was a small church, with really beautiful acoustics. Very different from a Frames show at the Fillmore!

I'll be at the game tomorrow night (Irish night: we get beanies, and a scoreboard scroll of our band's name!). If I catch #756, I'll offer it to whichever VCer posts the most in this thread between now and then*. Go! *not really

Some unaired clips from Last Call: backstage interview with Glen and Marketa If You Want Me The Amoeba in-store appearance was packed. The show tonight is in a really small venue, and I would be willing to bet that more people saw them today than will be at the show tonight. Glen talked a bit about how strange it is to be getting so much attention all a sudden, after years of just plugging along with the Frames.

This article chose probably the shallowest possible interpretation of Four Green Fields (it's not really all that subtle): What did I have, said the fine old woman What did I have, this proud old woman did say I had four green fields, each one was a jewel But strangers came and tried to take them from me I had fine strong sons, who fought to save my jewels They fought and they died, and that was my grief, said she Long time ago, said the fine old woman Long time ago, this proud old woman did say There was war and death, plundering and pillage My children starved, by mountain, vall

That is them. Here's a clip of their bass player, saying that you really should go seem them live, and talking about how they hung around after their set at a festival in Belgium to hear Wilco: http://www.cuttingedge.be/videos/18356-the-frames-interview And if I recall correctly, Glen Hansard said that some of the Wilcos were hanging around backstage listening to them at the Sasquatch Festival a couple of years ago. Is that right? Trish, Gina? Do you remember him saying that? Anyway, I think there's some mutual respect there.

Set List is a live album, and I love love love it. I'm also pretty crazy about For the Birds.

OMG that's exactly what I was thinking!!!

Dude, you almost gave me a heart attack. I had to immediately go check wilcoworld for San Francisco Fillmore shows!

I order stuff online all the time, but concert t-shirts are the one thing that I get wrong every time. And some people over here are discussing a similar topic.

Nice! I'm really looking forward to their show here on Saturday night. Definitely catch The Frames. You get all the intensity (and Glen chattiness) of a show like this, plus some rockin' good fun.

Happy birthday from me and Angela!

Yeah, some great ones posted here already. I think the winner should be chosen by VC poll.

Swell Season on Leno on YouTube Reminder... Late Late Show tonight.

When I was in Mississippi recently, I saw billboards for the Buffalo Park and thought: Really? There's a buffalo park in Tupelo? It struck me as odd for some reason. Also, round about my senior year in high school, they built a new primate habitat at the SF zoo. One of the baby monkeys was getting picked on by the older and bigger monkeys, so his mother took him, climbed a tree, and went over the wall. If I recall, it took several weeks for them to be corralled, and people reported seeing them all over the neighborhoods around the zoo.

Not the "I spent 20 minutes of my lunch hour today reading a Joe Strummer bio in my car" thread I was expecting.

I think I've only ever seen the first two, and the second one I only saw on-line. And I don't have a real badge, it's only a card that I printed myself, and my mom laminated for me.

I tore through this one way too fast, and I should probably go back and re-read some of the more relevant parts, but I don't remember that happening at all.

Probably out getting a delicious cup of hot chocolate. Ah, summer in San Francisco... There was discussion at one point of a Wilco song being used in an Illinois tourism ad, I think, but I forget what it was (and I never heard it). Does anyone remember that one? Or should I assume it's in one of the previously-linked-to threads?
