Donna, our Chico is also part terrier/part chihuahua (we think), although he's got more of a terrier head, and a smaller body. Cuteness! Oh, and has Noodles seen Beverley Hills Chihuahua? Chico gives it two paws up! From the look of Alissa's hair, I'd say she is (like myself) part yeti. Tell her to quit fighting her hair, just give in and let it fly. She's all adorable! And tell her I said hi.

Ooh, I love that one! Well, the Billy Bragg version anyway, I didn't even know that Kirsty MacColl had done it. Kirsty's dad Ewan wrote lots of good working songs, too: I may be a wage slave on Monday... And Christy Moore's got some good ones, Ordinary Man is a classic.

OK, LouieB and KoPT, could you two be any more vague? I think many of us are aware that people like Woody Guthrie and Utah Phillips wrote great labor songs. Maybe the question should have read "what are some of your favorite work/worker songs?" Just name one or two, maybe...? Or like some of the other responses here, I like hearing about those kinds of songs by people who aren't necessarily known for that genre.

Where I think this falls apart is when you're talking about the front row. If I'm standing a few rows back (I'm 5'3"), I think it's sweet, although certainly not necessary, when taller people let me around them, or make an effort to not bob around directly in front of me, etc. But for people who've made an effort to get there early to get to the very front row of a show, for me, that front row is as much about real estate as it is about being short. I like having a spot that's identifiable (how often do you start off standing at one place in a concert crowd, and get shifted to a worse spot

I believe legal immigrants are green card holders. It's the Permanent Resident card for legal aliens. I don't know what the stats are on green card holders who go on to achieve citizenship, but I believe that number has increased substantially since the September 11 attacks.

When I win the lottery, I'm going to buy whatever kind of unlimited ticket it takes to keep me moving around the world constantly. My cousin's in-laws live in Hawaii, they say that Hawaiian Airlines has some kind of an open ticket for flights between Honolulu and Las Vegas. They pay a flat rate for the year, and can fly back and forth as often as they like. Apparently folks in Hawaii really like Las Vegas (seriously, check it out next time you're in the LV airport, there's almost always a big tour group from Hawaii hanging around).

Yeah, the 1981 HBO special was classic. I loved that, it was perfect, he walked that line between childlike and filthy so perfectly. So many great lines in that show: "Captain Carl, did you wash your hands?"
