Merged.

Certainly you can see the attraction of satellite radio, with the multitude of niche stations available? My dad loves his Sirius for Howard Stern, but has been lamenting the lack of folk stations. Maybe a merger with XM will give him a few more choices along those lines.

The two of you probably hadn't been asked to comment on each others' lives and careers, and whether you'd ever be friends again, in numerous interviews over the past 10 years.

There have been a couple of other threads. I'm linking because folks might be interested in the previous discussions: http://forums.viachicago.org/index.php?showtopic=28673& http://forums.viachicago.org/index.php?showtopic=29877&

You should fit in quite well around here. Welcome to VC! I don't think it's a bandwidth question so much as a linkage thing. If all those sites stay where they are, but have links to each other, that would work. It's just a lot of work for the people who maintain those sites to do all that. It would be great, though!

There was a story in the NY Times Sunday magazine a couple of weeks ago which discussed this e-mail. They referenced a study where older people were shown a series of statements about health-related issues, and were then told clearly whether the statements were true or false. Some of the false statements were shown multiple times, each time clearly stating that this claim was FALSE. Afterwards, they asked these people to look at some statements, and say whether they thought the statements were true or false. The statements which had been shown the most often were the most likely to be beli

Here Drew, I got you this to wear today:

I'm going to say that there was no sarcasm intended. Not everyone busts out with a first post so chock full of useful information! And there are quite a few wilcobase-stat geeks around here, so any additions are very welcome.

Yay! Thanks, Larry. And sorry I'm so bad about replying to PMs.

Hey, cool! There's a thread all about Wilcobase pinned in the After the Show section, a little farther down the board. Go to that thread, click on Rob's name (he started the thread, he's the Wilcobase guy), and you'll get an option to send him a private message, or e-mail him. I'm sure he'd love to get input on an old show. Welcome to VC!

So they're listening to a song that you think is a great song, for a reason that you think is not a good enough reason. Isn't the point that they're listening to the song? Maybe they'll learn to appreciate it (in a way that you think is appropriate) after a few listens.

Check out the pinned thread at the top of this section. It's a list of b-sides and other non-album tracks, but jcroach has done a really thorough job of listing which single the b-sides are on, etc. You'll probably find everything you're looking for up there. Example:

We do rock. I'm waiting for one or two more checks to come in, but I should have the final number by the end of the week.

Well, it's obviously a reference to "A horse, a horse, my kingdom for a horse!", but beyond that, I've got nothing.

The Japan games are the official start to the season, right? So this is probably as good a time as any to zip up this thread and start a new one, I would think. If they haven't happened yet, I'd appreciate it if someone would just start a new thread whenever they do, and I'll go ahead and close this one then.

Looks like you folks have this covered, but for future reference, there is a pinned thread in this section with all this information. This is also referenced in the pinned thread: And yeah, for seated shows, the pre-sale seats are often not the best seats.

Yep, Wilco supports it, and it's totally legit around here. Head on down to the Greatest Lost Track of All Time subforum, within that there are different sections for B&Ps and other old-school trades, and bittorrents and other download-style sharing. Welcome to VC! edit: Beaten to the punch! Anyway, also check out the pinned thread in this section for downloadable shows. A great resource.

I think that's at least partly true, and I doubt that Obama would entirely disagree with you. But, this speech was about race, which is why he specifically addressed those issues as issues which are in many ways tied to the history of race relations in America.

Yes, I think it was the Pearl Jam/Neil Young show that was there, but Eddie Vedder was sick and didn't perform. Is that right? I do know I listened to that show from our back windows. -
Yeah, some folks posted a bit about it in the thread for that show. The Wilcos are just too trusting.

I seriously considered it! Carla Bozulich was supposed to be playing there, but then she cancelled. I definitely would have gone to see her. Other than that, I've seen it all before... -

pneyu's bathroom will be closer to this festival than the hotel was in Pittsburgh! Folks who've been to Hardly Strictly Bluegrass: I'm thinking they're going to use the same set-up, or something similar. I think they said on KFOG this morning, 60 bands on 5 stages. Although they might put a big-big-big stage, for the headliners, at the Polo Fields (it's an easy walk, I skipped over there from Hardly Strictly for my niece's soccer game).
