I'm with ikol on this one. A civil union could be entered into by anyone, and would be strictly a legality. Anyone needing recognition above and beyond that could be "married" within whatever spiritual or cultural tradition they wanted.

Just wanted to let you all know that I received a very nice e-mail from Natalie's mom: I wrote back to let her know that we wanted to do this as a group for Natalie, and that there was a large group of people involved both in the planning of this, and in the donating. Thanks again to you all.

Could someone please, PLEASE, photoshop a pic of Dan being carried around in a Baby Bjorn? It would be much appreciated. Thanks.

After they did Falling Slowly in Oakland last month, Glenn said "don't leave... we do have other songs". He described the overall experience of the movie, the Oscar win, etc., as something like standing in your yard, kicking a ball and hoping to hit the back fence. And instead, the ball clears the fence, keeps going over the neighbor's yard, across the river, past the next town... Part of him is thinking "cool, look at that!", and the other part just wants his ball back.

Yeah, I can think of several legitimate reasons why people might want/need to sit during a show, or even to leave early. It happens, no big whoop. And I don't think I noticed any look of disgust, but it's entirely possible I was concentrating on John at that point. Zebra, I saw your brother up front. I understand that he had a photo pass, but it still was a pretty tight squeeze to get past the folks in those seats. I can understand them being a bit put out. Either way though, I'm looking forward to seeing those pics.

Thanks, folks! There was a woman sitting behind me, who asked me to lean way in and take a picture on her iPhone, which I believe I screwed up in multiple ways. Anyway, I told her she could see my pictures here, so if you've found us: welcome to VC!

It was absolutely lovely. Great to see Rick and Laurie there. What a surprise to be right next to you folks, too! And I had a couple of extra tickets, which ended up being put to great use by a couple of kids ("young men", probably, but since I'm an old lady...) who enjoyed the hell out them. My friend Mark commented after the show how cool it was to be sitting (standing!) near so many people who were so into the show. Jeff said before one of the encores, that Pat had said the first part of the show was lavender-scented (a reference to the day they'd spent at Los Poblanos, which he'd m

There was a taper there, and a good one at that. Off to ride the Sandia Tram, more later.

When it comes to horses, it doesn't matter. Just give me 16 hands between my legs, and I'm a happy girl.

Oh, that goes without saying.

Dude's a stoner, he should know the words to Tambourine Man. Also, I think he screwed up the "in the jingle jangle morning" line, which is by no means the hard part of that song.

Jenna better add some oats and hay to that registry.

We do, but it just seemed more helpful to me to suggest some standard naming practices for future threads, rather than having the mods go in and change the titles every time there's a tour. And again, no big whoop, we'll all figure it out from the thread if it comes to that, it's mostly just for the sake of folks who like to browse a little more quickly, rather than read every thread.
-
Those would be just swell examples, Shirl.

Just suggestions, not mandatory, but to make things easier for the casual browser: Put the artist name in the thread title! If there's no artist name, I know we can all assume that it's Wilco , but sometimes it's Jeff Tweedy, or a side project, or some other group altogether. This is especially helpful when people are using the search function later. Let's say I'm searching for a Jeff Tweedy solo show from a couple of years ago where he played "Mountain Bed". I might search in ATS for the word "mountain", and come up with a list of threads with just dates and locations. Having the spe

Sometimes it helps to read some of the posts in the thead, not just the title.
