I hadn't been reading as much I'd have liked to for a while, but for the past few weeks I've been bingeing. And it feels good! Recently finished: (Again! Keeping my niece company while she reads it...)

Greatest... or, just go back to the main page of the board and scroll down. I haven't seen the Albuquerque show yet, but I haven't really been looking. I'm assuming it'll get mentioned in the thread in After the Show, too, once it's out there.

I've tallied the first 10 sets of votes, and there are 160 different albums on the list already. This thing's going to be a monster, people. -

No worries. I just like to bitch! -
The polls are looking good. Just back from city hall. Didn't get to see the two of them, but I saw quite a few other happy couples, including a couple of very hot guys wearing t-shirts that said "so, who can get married now, bitch?" Also, the requisite "god hates fags" contingent, being easily upstaged by the happiness surrounding them. I was in the crowd standing across the street from the steps, and at one point the group standing right on the steps started chanting what sounded like "blah blah blah! blah blah blah!". The folks around me finally decided that the hate group had s

Ah yes, this is exactly the "yay for people in love getting a happy ending!" thread that I was hoping for...

I've received votes from 10 of you so far, and only one of you broke the rules and submitted a non-final ranking; nine of you submitted your votes before the 15th; at least one of you didn't include your real name and/or VC user name (although I'm pretty sure I can figure out who you are from the e-mail address ); and one of you got sent to the spam folder, but you've been unbanished from there and are now safe in the VCtop100 inbox. And yes, I'm going to go ahead and count all those rule-breaking votes anyway. Recap of the rules, for those who still aren't bothering to read the first -
Same-sex couples will start getting married in California at 5:01 this evening. As in 2004, the first couple to be married at San Francisco's city hall today will be Del Martin and Phyllis Lyon.

You did read that, and they are OK. I'm just making these calls on the fly, so check back to the first post, which I'm updating with answers to these types of questions. -

No singles, please. EPs are iffier, but try to stick to LPs. Depending on how crazy the tabulations for this makes me, I may do Top 100 Songs for the Winter edition. -
What a nightmare. Major vibes to all.

The only thing a top 15 would muddy up is my spreadsheet's edit-check that says the total number of votes must be divisible by 20. No, I think a top 15 would be fine. Your #1 pick would still get 20 points, #2 gets 19, and so on, you'd just be forfeiting those last few choices. Unless I'm missing something? Does anyone out there with more stats-cred than me want to weigh in? I can't think of a good reason why everyone would have to submit 20, but that doesn't mean there isn't a good reason... -

Some people have already started to send their lists in! I'm holding those for another few days (per rule #1 ), I'll start the preliminary tabulating this weekend. And here is today's/this page's reminder of the rules: -

Thank you! That's fabulous. Although I know at least one VCer who'd get seasick watching it. -

As far as I'm concerned, nothing is off limits. If it was released on some form of vinyl, cassette, or CD, it's in. -

Thanks, Tim! Yeah, I thought YHF was #1, but I knew it was close with something else. That definitely makes sense. I'm definitely going with the e-mail system, and no drafts. I thought 20 picks though, because if I recall, weren't there a lot of low-number ties the last time? I'm trying to avoid that situation. But depending on what kind of responses this gets in the next couple of days, I may revise the rules a bit one way or the other. I definitely appreciate your input, and I know I've got some nasty data-entry issues ahead of me. -

How did I miss this? If you hadn't just posted that, I totally would have shown up at the Hotel Utah in a few weeks. Am I not getting Carla's e-mail updates? -

So cool! Sounds like an amazing week. We're having Evangelistapalooza here this summer (they were just here in March, and they'll be back for two shows in July, and another in September...), but I'd love to see Scarnella sometime. Thanks for the pics! -
Update: Results now posted here! I think we did this a few years ago. Sam, did you do the accounting? Does anyone still have that list? Anyway, since some time has passed, and there are lots of new folks on the board, I thought it would be fun to do it again. The concept is simple: everyone votes for their favorite 20 albums, and then I compile all the votes and come up with VC's Top 100. The rules are: there ain't no rules. No, wait, that's not going to work. OK, the rules are: 1. Polls will open on June 15, and close on July 31. Results will be announced on August 8, or soo
