If you wanted to start a thread with that list, and then would be willing to update that first post as people add info to the thread, so that the complete list would always be in the top post, then I think that would probably be pinnable. That sentence was way too long. Sorry!

Zooey Deschanel and M. Ward = She & Him
gogo replied to Vacant Horizon's topic in Someone Else's Song
There's a reason I'm not a music critic, so here's my entirely worthless review of last night's show: Zooey is beautiful, her voice is amazing, and I liked the songs, on first hearing. M. didn't sing much; duets on some covers, but not much on the originals. I was kind of expecting the whole thing to be more duet-y, which I think I might have preferred, but it seems to be a showcase for her voice as much as anything else. Not much chatting with the crowd, the best bit of banter came from an audience member, a woman who yelled "You're lovely!" Then when Zooey said "Ooh, thanks... Wait, -
Love you guys.

Do you mean because my hair looks like that wig Jan wore when she was "the new Jan Brady"?
-
I think the real question is, who is better at VC?
-
Just a normal Friday for some of us.
-
That was such a fun show.
-
Well, my hair's a lot shorter than it was. I may need to clip them to one of the pets.
-
Pretty much! With the mics clipped into my hair.

The "ghetto recording" from Des Moines! Yeah, I started out here with some shows from Donna and Uyen, and I couldn't get over how friendly and generous folks were. And they're still two of my favorite VCers.

OK, I'm moving this because I'm sick of seeing it in Just a Fan when there are more important topics to be discussed in here. Also, maybe some of the folks in TTL haven't seen it yet. It could be all new kinds of fun over there!

Yes, but you're pretty superhuman when it comes to being able to exist without sleep, though. I powered through a post-residency weekend in New York on pure adrenalin apparently, because I've been sick since I got home on Sunday night. Oh, and no flu shot (I never do).

Man in the Sand is good stuff, no doubt about it. Was there music written for any of these, or were they just lyrics? I always thought it was just the lyrics, but I may be mistaken.
-
Is this the thread where I put in my request for a ten night residency at the Fillmore, please?
-
I've toured the Ryman, but never seen a show there. I would have loved to have seen this one (had a ticket and everything!) but the travel stuff just didn't work out. Have fun, everybody!

FNL Soundtrack (no Wilco ) They need to do another one for the second season!

I'm on the west coast, so I just got here. There's no "earlier today" for me. Well, I would have thought that part of my post was obviously a joke. Check out my member title.

PMs were flying yesterday (and, will probably continue to do so today ). Do you really think you were the only one getting those? Wait, I thought I had the claim on "smarmy" around here. Who's trying to steal my act?!?
-
Yes, everyone who was going to this show has the right to vent and be pissed off about the postponement. Even folks who weren't planning to go have every right to be pissed off by the principle of the thing. But let's try to keep it civil, and let's also try to remember that there's very little chance of any of us swaying folks who disagree on this issue to our side. So feel free to vent away, but don't expect that you're going to make friends and influence people by insisting that yours is the only right way to look at the situation.

Before that, I think there was an orange and blue "Mets" theme, wasn't there?

We're in the realm of entirely inappropriate speculation. If someone wants to start up another SNL thread, go for it, but this one is done.
