  1. I saw the 'final' (we've seen this play out before... The Who are in town next week after their farewell tour was in 1982) tour from Kikagaku Moyo last night. they are good and i like them but i wouldn't put them in top-tier psych bands from japan (tbh, that's a pretty lofty bar to clear) and i can't figure out how they got so much more popular than the rest of those bands. seems like they resonate pretty well with the younger crowd; maybe it's because they don't go for the throat too often and spend a good chunk of their time w/ playful jams, which is one of my critiques. they are
  2. yeah not many people are gonna be paying $300 to see Wilco.
  3. not when i have a 7:30AM meeting! they got on at 9:45 at a venue i'd imagine the usual curfew is 11PM.
  4. i saw Interpol last night. they must think Boston is NYC since they played until 11:30. not even Trey's band played that long last weekend!
  5. i saw Rosali open for HGM last year but it was just her and Emily Robb; having a band behind her was a big improvement. and the sound that Dan's band got going was tremendous! i def should have worn ear plugs...
  6. anyone in the Boston area should note that Jon Langford and Sally Timms are playing w/ The Sadies at the very intimate Atwood's Tavern this summer, two shows.
  7. anyone who has a chance to see the Destroyer/Rosali show, go. pls, take my word for it, it's a great pairing and two bands at the peak of their powers.
  8. no idea but i chose to purchase via bandcamp so the digital files are available in my bandcamp collection.
  9. not that Wilco is the loudest band but i would figure that the noise level would be intolerable for a dog.
  10. true i am just being a bitter bostonian.
  11. of course they would prioritize NYC over Boston... hey, at least the Nets got swept last night
  12. yeah they canceled the Boston show last night. bummer.
  13. thanks for mentioning that... i wanted the black version and getting it via bandcamp is better as all the songs will be added to my collection. and it is a little cheaper. score!
  14. so Circle Jerks canceled their second boston show.. but! Negative Approach and 7 Seconds are playing a different venue.
  15. hah, Mr Murphy and company didn't do it for you?
  16. Non-Covid related was in the email i got from the publicist... i heard laryngitis as Rob apparently struggled on the show Saturday.
  17. Priest always puts on a good show but this MSSV trio that Watt pulled together is dynamite. drummer Stephen Hodges played on Tom Waits records along w/ a bunch of other stuff and Mike Baggetta was insane on guitar. only downer was missing Trinary System, Roger Miller's new band. but i chatted up both of them and got a shitty selfie with these two legends.
  18. well that didn't turn out as planned... show was canceled 75 min before doors. but, that meant I got to see Mike Watt!
  19. Judas Priest. 50 Heavy Metal Years of Music.
