  2. That was the most exciting couple of rock and roll days I've had in a long, time that's for sure...borrowed a friend's wall projecter and stayed up till 5 a.m. to watch the Pitchfork show. Fantastico.
  3. off the top of my head: Blue Mask Lou Reed/Robert Quine Take me with you when you go Jayhawks Gary Louris at least that's what you said maggot brain - p funk

  5. i waited for nine hours on yahoo but five minutes on gmail.
  6. that's what i like about it: best segue they've done since Red Eyed and Blue> I Got You. I think they've been listening to Parquet Courts, who use that trick several times on Light Up Gold.
  7. Think they'll play it front to back at pitchfork tonight?
  8. I hear some Bowie-like production in there. For example, a couple have mentioned Lou Reed, I hear some "Hangin' Round" from Transformer.
  9. From the places on the OPs list, I've been to Morocco and Croatia. Morocco: Flew into Agadir, as most of the resort package deals from these sorts do. Nothing special, get out as fast as you can because there are so many other places much more worth seeing. Drove through the High Atlas to Marrakech, stopping overnight along the way. Never have I seen a starrier sky than that night. Marrakech was like walking back in time (if you can dig a bit deeper than the tourist market). Then to Essaoiura (sp?). A beautiful city by the see with gnawa music on the streets. I'd go back to Morocco in a hear
  10. That would be cool- Speed Racer and Jules join Wilco, then Nels could start posting here about everything that is wrong with them. Sounds fair.
  11. so you want Nels to go the route of action and speed racer....i see...
  12. do you expect everyone to enjoy Wilco on your terms or something?
  13. yes, people need to chill out and let Wilco be as they want to be.
  14. That doesn't sound like a soft spot to me.
  15. You want a Christmas record? Here's a damn good Christmas record: http://www.awesometapes.com/chief-commander-ebenezer-obey-international-brothers-christmas-special-king-juju/
  16. well, he does turn the vocals down a little.
  17. The Jay Gatsbys of the world sing the praises of Jim O'Rourke. Being oldish myself, I wonder what people like John Cale or Daniel Lanois might do. Looking locally, Tim Rutili would be an interesting choice, and what about Albini?
  18. After recent back trouble, I don't feel like carrying around more than necessary, so I'm off to the gig tonight with only three pedals: a fuzz face clone, a Timmy, and a a Boss tuner. I haven't gigged with that few since I've owned more than three pedals.
