I was just thinking how perfect it was to follow "Red-Eyed and Blue" with "I Got You." Then I realized that's how it goes on Being There. Thinking back to the show, whenever a song was done, I started humming the next song on the album (you know you all do that when listening to favorite albums). In this case, it worked, haha.

What bands or artist do you like more than Wilco?
paulcalypse replied to remphish1's topic in Just A Fan
#1 will always be Neil Young. Usually for two weeks after I see Wilco, they are my favorite band, but often these bands take turns being my favorite: Yo La Tengo, Pavement, Dinosaur Jr., and Built to Spill. Again, Neil Young is always the king. -
Where do you start counting at?
-
People have been PMing me for my copy of the webcast. Everything after Bull Black Nova sounds perfect. All split up into different tracks and stuff. Please do if you want it, that goes for everyone.
-
32? How? I counted 27, but counting "nothing at all" at the end of that streak would make it 28 for me I think.
-
I got this webcast recording all figured out. What's the next step? How can i distribute it to people without breaking any board rules? Anyone, please PM me if you can give me some pointers.

I was in the 7th or 8th row on the left, and the sound was fantastic. I'm usually close to the stage, so it was a welcome change to hear the vocals loud and clear. Nels' guitar tone was sick as usual. Setlist was fantastic, and my favorite songs were Spiders, Hummingbird (love the mic twirl), Candyfloss, and Hoodoo Voodoo (loved singing along). Let me say the crowd singalong to Jesus, Etc sucked pretty bad. No one around me was singing. Good night and glad to be safe at home in Grand Rapids. Snowy drive! Hope everyone else made it back unscathed.

I recorded the whole thing. From the start to BBN i have skipping, but after that I switched browsers and settings to record in AIFF 24bit/48khz. I did some on the fly track splitting, but gave up halfway through. If anyone has any tips for me (as far as splitting tracks), I'd love to get this out there in .FLAC format (i know how to convert it). Glad people are interested in this.

Ok maybe just Broken Arrow, but they started playing Mr. Soul. Wow this is cool.
-
Holy crap. Wilco is playing a bunch of neil songs all at once.
-
What are you recording with?
-
Just switched to Firefox from Safari after Bull Black, and so far there's no skipping. Hopefully this continues.
-
I may abort my recording. It keeps skipping every 30 seconds or so. What do you folks think? Should I pull the plug?
-
So far it looks like audio only. I've never watched/listened to a live Wilco webcast (where have I been? haha.)
-
I am recording the Webcast now with AudioHIjack Pro. It's streaming onto my computer in AIFF format, whatever that means. It should be a pretty nice copy if anyone wants it later. Getting the opener, Califone, too, though I started a minute late or so. Sounds really great.

Haha yes. Afterwards I realized that he played Cinnamon Girl because he was in Canada. He played Kick Out The Jams since he was in Ann Arbor. Duhhh. My girlfriend kept telling me to shut up, and she was right for that, because I think they (especially Eliza) were thinking, "What the hell is this guy saying?"

Nice picture of the back of my head, haha. Everyone kept coming up to me at the end of the show. "Hey you're that guy that was up front wearing the red sweatshirt!"

WILCO - 10/18/09 UIC Pavillion, Chicago Night #1
paulcalypse replied to Dude's topic in After The Show
I just want to say I had a great time at the Sunday night show. I went to the Friday show in Ann Arbor as well, but I can say for sure that Sunday was definitely a better show (energy, crowd, songs). I was sad to miss the Monday show (stupid college classes, who needs 'em). Hopefully we'll see some familiar faces in East Lansing next year (and hopefully they play Via Chicago and Spiders). I'd like to say thanks to Rob (allgodsmoney) and his wife, the English teacher who's name escapes me, for making our evening really enjoyable. Rob was nice enough to let my girlfriend swap spots with him so -
Also please tell me how many shows you've gone to, because I'm really curious. I've been to a lot, too, and I want to know what kind of number you're talking about.

Look man. You started this thread in the fist place. What did you expect to hear from us? Those people that were yelling at you when you snuck your way to the front are probably members of this very board. Of course you are going to get a negative reaction from us. Also please don't compare us to Phish fans. I really don't like that band, and many of those loyal fans you were at that show with were probably tripping balls. Just sayin'. I drove 3 hours in shitty traffic from Michigan to wait in line for 2 hours before the doors opened, and I got a great spot in front of Jeff (and met some awe

This will be my first real Chicago Wilco show. (Lollapalooza doesn't count, haha) What should I expect to see that might differ than last night's excellent Ann Arbor show at Hill Auditorium. Are the setlists longer? Do the fans sing louder? I hope so.

I've got an offer! Sent you a personal message.

Seem's like a great set. I bet that "Someone Else's Song" really got the crowd in the mood. Speaking of, how was the crowd?
-
This was my first solo Tweedy show outside of his little Lollapalooza kids stage set. And I'm not sure I'd go see him again...in a venue that sells alcohol. I understand how people like to have a drink and enjoy a show, but people were just flat out obnoxious at this show. Maybe it was the Kalamazoo crowd, but I have a feeling lot of people traveled a bit see the show (like myself). I feel like Jeff definitely cut the show short. He almost didn't play Acuff-Rose at the end, he would have walked off stage if it wasn't for his guitar tech handing him the guitar. Also, contrary to what others a
