  1. I think they recently sold out, because they used to have a purchase button next to the picture where its says "CD: $9.99" This was right after Solid Sound when I was checking out Minus 5 on the yeproc store. So my guess is that they definitely had some copies recently, but now they're gone. I feel like this album won't be such a hard find at a good price elsewhere on the internet over time...but time will tell, as it usually does.
  2. Ooops, all my fault...well, sorta. Thanks to the guy from the what.cd forum
  3. Hey all. I was browsing a vinyl forum, and a user gave me the heads up that they still have VINYL copies of Mermaid Ave. at the UK Billy Bragg store. As far as he can tell, his copy does not look like a reissue or anything, has the inserts and all. I often see sealed copies of this record go on eBay for $70 or even $90 bucks. Anyways, I ordered mine and it came out to about $25. Should be here in a couple weeks. Thought I'd give my fellow vinyl-loving VCers a heads up. Just please don't buy all the copies and flip them on eBay! http://www.billybragg.co.uk/store/music.html (I've attached hi
  4. Will you please post a picture of the poster?
  5. I saw Paul on the first day of the festival and let him know that he's probably been at EVERY Wilco show I've ever attended, a good introduction point. Plus my name is Paul, too, so that makes it even cooler. I commend him for his loyalty, but I could never do what he does...you da man, Paul.
  6. Bbop's list matches what I have written down exactly. Nel's was playing a six string banjo that was probably tuned like a guitar. I'm pretty sure it was a banjitar, but y'all might have to check out any pictures people put up from the show. Best tweedy solo show I've ever seen. Although I've only been to one other and the kidz stage show at lolla 08. The Neil Young cover was so good. YOU OWN IT! YOU OWN IT NOW! Definitely a once in a lifetime thing...unless they do this again next year. The recordings from this weekend should be great. I saw four rigs up at this show alone!
  7. I'm not really worried about the Hunter Center, because unlike yesterday, there are multiple acts happening at the same time, thus I think the crowd can be split...not just in one place. I think bottleneck could turn into a big problem. That space inside the store was incredibly packed. And seriously, only two or three doorways leading to outside? PLUS people were lingering just outside those doors, making traveling difficult. I plan on getting outside and hanging around outside for most of the day because of this. The merch tents were cool. Picked up a near mint copy of Bob Dylan's Blonde
  8. Well JonDick you didn't really burst my bubble. Both shows in the auditorium were pretty full, but I had no problem getting a good seat by arriving 20 minutes early to each. There were 850 seats but lots of standing room too. Halfway through the Books set people started leaving, so I think there was some pretty good room. I do agree though, it felt a bit small. Bright side is that there won't be any more music shows in there according to the schedule. Not sure what a non-camping festival is...I think a ton of people are camping at this festival as well as all the local hotels/motels being
  9. Sounds like a way better number than the billion people at Lollapalooza the first time I saw Wilco. Very excited for this weekend!!
  10. Oh duh, forgive me. This is why I shouldn't post on forums right after I wake up. Totally clueless. Thanks, btw.
  11. Anyone have a setlist?
  12. I will be drinking the Magic Hat, thank you very much, haha.
  13. Let me say the kidzstage show was fantastic and he only played a few songs. I think it was What Light (i swear he played this), Hoodoo, HMD, Hummingbird, New Madrid. A solo Jeff performance makes me 100% more excited, even though I already am super excited.
  14. Let me say that this thread is amazing. I've had similar dreams regarding playing on stage with my favorite bands, but no Wilco. Only Yo La Tengo and Sonic Youth. Maybe I'll get lucky tonight...
  15. Oh my bad. Still though. I hope you consider my words about ebayers out of china. I got ripped off once...
  16. I'd say that that CD may be a fake because it ships out of China. I don't know of any Japanese edition with a bonus track. Maybe they put Unlikely Japan on there? Just be wary of ebayers from china i guess...
  17. Haha. I can imagine doing parent-teacher conferences with Tweedy. "yeah yeah, you're son is a genius he's doing fine...ok tell me about this new Wilco album"
  18. Yeah when it came out some people had skipping issues. If you set up your turntable correctly with the correct tracking weight, it shouldn't skip. I played a copy through, all four sides, and I didn't get any skipping. The packaging and the vinyl are amazing, and it really does the album justice. Just buy it!!
  19. They packaged a record on an angle in a box for me using those air bubbles above and beneath it. Then they must have had to force the box shut to get it taped. Yeah, I wasn't happy when I opened the box...
  20. Just want to make a note that Amazon is horrible at shipping vinyl. The often package it in bigger boxes instead of LP mailers like every other store I've ordered from. The last LP I ordered from there arrived bent and not in Mint condition due to the way it was packed.
  21. I'm up in GR area, so it isn't a long drive for me. However...I will be driving to Solid Sound only a few weeks later. Should I still hit up this show, then? I dunno.
  22. Would I get in trouble if I asked people to PM me if they wanted MP3s of the bonus tracks?
  23. It's good you didn't buy two, because they are going for around $80 on ebay now. That huge price we saw was the result of post-RSD madness.
