  1. Jeff said he doesn't use soap at all. You just have to wet it. Then he said why would you use soap to take the crap out of your hair and then put more crap into your hair that you bought. Then he said something like "don't you want hair like me?" and he scruffed up his hair (it was looking wildly shaggy), so the whole talk became extra hilarious. It was some of the best banter I've heard, can't wait to relisten in the bootleg.
  2. Sorry I thought you were taping both shows...was that the case? I saw you in line, and I meant to say hi, but I didn't get the chance. We chatted at Solid Sound last year. Next time!
  3. Agreed! I saw you up there recording last night. Looking forward to hearing everything again.
  4. Looks like a good set list! Looking forward to tonight's show. See you folks there
  5. Always the albums themselves. I often listen to an album over and over for a few days. Most recently it was YHF and then each of the different unofficial "demos" releases from that period. iPhone plugged in to wherever I am (desk, car, classroom, etc.) If I have time to sit down and spin the black circle, that's what I do instead.
  6. Planned on only one night for us. Got Gold for Saturday. Super excited. Bosco, you planning on taping?
  7. Thanks for the heads up, not only for the music but also that I need to catch up on these new ones. Fringe is one of my favorite shows, but it recently fell to the wayside when I discovered The Walking Dead. Anyways, they have had MMJ and I think Velvet Underground playing in previous Fringe shows. Nice to see they finally brought Wilco in. And yeah, the episodes are becoming more connected, so you really have to watch them all.
  8. I spoted bböp twice! Jealous that you got to see this show, but the next night was very good, too.

  10. Some pics here. Our seats were first row on the first balcony (Tier B?) http://instagr.am/p/jdygB/ http://instagr.am/p/jdo17/ http://instagr.am/p/jeFkV/ Feel free to follow me on instagram. I enjoy seeing other people's pics (especially Wilco related ones!)
  11. Sorry but I'd have to disagree with you. I think Nick Lowe is absolutely cool, and I missed him tonight when I was watching White Denim open for Wilco tonight.

Really random decision to go to this show today. Literally bought tickets this morning.
  13. So what's the status on everyone's hotel reservations for SS2013? Are folks going for reservations this far in advance, are they even letting people make reservations yet? Seems pretty far away, but you can never be too sure about these things.
  14. I often take notes of the set list on my phone but usually not at Wilco shows because I know that's usually covered by VC regulars. Usually you can tell what song is being played by the first couple notes or even what guitar Jeff has before they even start playing. It's not that hard to quickly jot it down. I almost always call my friend who loves Wilco but has never seen them live. Usually I call during songs from Being There or acoustic songs so it's not too distorted. I think I have it down to an art form now, haha.
  15. The bootleg for this show is out on Dimeadozen now. Sounds good.
  16. Actually the red can be seen if it stays in its sleeve...I believe the first pressing simply came in one of those clear plastic picture disc sleeves.
  17. Reading the title of this thread I thought the discussion was going to be about the best ways to support our favorite band. 1. Aside from buying their music and t-shirts, consider delivering the band a nice warm home-baked apple pie post sound check. This kind gesture can really give them a much needed "shot in the arm." As road-weary musicians, they forever long to be back home, and baked goods can really give them the boost they need to get through the week. Sorry OP, but this is a Wilco fan forum, you'd be in better company elsewhere...not sure what you were thinking.
  18. Get Exact Audio Copy or Foobar 2000 if you are on Windows. XLD works a charm on Mac. All of those are free!
  19. My girlfriend (spoonscar) and I got in line relatively early, but we opted out from standing super close to the stage (we were right in front of Jeff in Austin.) We were exactly center on the first rail with a good view over everyone's heads. Those step ups are really nice for shorter people (like her), and even for me it was great seeing everyone on stage equally with the PA mix to boot. It sounds so much better back there, haha. I thought this sounded new, too, but I was watching the video of Lollapalooza 2008, and they played it the same then, too. Not sure how long they've been playing it
  20. Yes I agree. People were quiet during OSM which I think lets the band know the fans are buckled in and ready for the show. I think the song is a great opener.
  21. Thanks for both set lists bböp. Also nice chatting with ditty and his wife (don't know her handle) after the show. Fun thing: my girlfriend spotted Matt Smith from Outrageous Cherry in the crowd so I went over to say hi. He told me told me they were recording their new album nearby and he took a break to come by and see Wilco. Really nice guy. They played at solid sound in '10, FYI. Overall great show. I am having a hard time deciding between Austin (12/01) or this show, so I'll call it a tie. They are really rocking on this tour. My highlight was the three song opener. Great combo.
  22. Thanks for the heads up. I was there for my birthday (I'm from Michigan). Thanks to bbop for hanging out for a few beers after the show. Good times.
  23. I like that, too, but that probably wouldn't have worked on this record if they wanted to include the bonus track. On the bright side, I love the title track, and it being the first track on side C guarantees that it will sound the best due to no inner groove distortion.
  24. I'm a huge fan, too. Wish they toured the US more often. Gruff is touring the US in May/June!
