  1. I know. Doesn't make it right though. I think he should just stick to producing it. Anyway, I thought he said after star wars was out the way he was going back to making smaller films like THX1138 didn't he?
  2. Yeah, I heard that too. It's funny how they have absolutely no faith in make-up, lighting or camera work isn't it?
  3. I think he only came up with the stories, actually. Other people wrote the scripts.
  4. Am I the only one that laughed when I read that? The two after the first one were let down a fair amount by the fact that the leading ladies were terrible. If they get someone like Karen Allen in this new one, and don't try to spoil it with over-the-top stunts and cgi (which I think they probably will do, anyway) , then it might be good. Oh, and why the fuck should George Lucas have a say in when a script is good enough or not, surely the other two know his recent track record on that sort of thing?
  5. Cheers. I've only got the original demos in mp3, so I might grab these. What I wanted to ask though was, when I was looking at your site, I saw you have Lambchop and M Ward concerts on there - what is the quality like with them? I know it's wrong, but I only really like soundboards (with as little of the audience as possible), so basically just wanted to ask what they were before downloading them.
  6. I wouldn't recommend going dogging with the Midlake album, I don't think that kind of crowd like that kind of music. For the more discerning dogger, I'd suggest Clap Your Hands Say Yeah!
  7. I think the fact that it was free had a lot to do with it. Plus it was far more interesting to listen to than this. Oh, and the fact that Danger Mouse knows what he's doing with regard to that method of making music.
  8. Shit, that's a surprise. McCabe & Mrs Miller and Thieves Like Us are a couple of my favourite films. That's a real bugger.
  9. Ronnie Lane definately had the right attitude for making great music, just the wrong attitude to make any money from it.
  10. Yeah, I think you're right, but he should have let Lane play it judging from that live version at the BBC.
  11. Some youtube to help you make your mind up (get anything that's got Ronnie Lane in it, hint hint): Three Button Hand Me Down Bad N' Ruin Anniversary How Come? Debris He was a damn juggernaut on the bass (that bass on Three Button Hand Me Down is just incredible - in fact nearly as good as his little shuffle), and a great songwriter.
  12. Well that's how I like things done too, but some people like surprises I guess. With my family my surprises tend to be "Fuck how could you get it that wrong" kind of surprises, but surprises none-the-less.
  13. How's that going to work for a Christmas list!
  14. Yeah, get some Ronnie Lane solo stuff too while you're at it. Ronnie is the heart and soul of The Faces and The Small Faces anyway.
  15. This boxset contain's everything you'd want from Rod Stewart's solo career: Reason To Believe All the album's on in the boxset are incredibly good (his first 5 solo albums). If that is a bit too much money (which it isn't when you think about the amount of music you get), then Every Picture Tells A Story is generally seen as the best of his solo albums. If you want something by The Faces, I'd actually suggest getting a best of cd like this: Good Boys When They're Asleep unless you want to get all their albums. They never really made a great album in my eyes, others may disagree (Nod's As Goo
  16. Definately my favourite album of the year. Really good album. At times the songs are overly long for my tastes, but the general sound of the music is great. NP.
  17. I got a bit excited when I first saw the picture. I've got a feeling it's the insert from the dvd actually, now that I think about it. I am playing the album now - bloody great album.
  18. Is that the wrong picture, or is that CD something different than the normal album?
