That's my second favourite track on the whole album. It's definately an anomaly, not just for that album, but his whole career really; but, it's actually the first song I heard that stopped me thinking of him as that whole Born In The USA Bruce that my parents would play in the car, to being someone I could actually get into myself.

To The Other Woman (I'm The Other Woman) - Doris Duke If She's Your Wife (Who Am I) - Doris Duke Creeping Away - Swamp Dogg That Ain't My Wife - Swamp Dogg The Baby Is Mine - Swamp Dogg (if this is more than theoretical, and you actually want these, then give me a shout)

Yeah. You've got the worst 2 (double album really) there, to be fair. They don't often get much of a play by me. You must have heard Nixon, surely? Is A Woman is another of my favourites, but Nixon is kind of the best place to get into them. Oh, and the last album (Damaged) was one of my favourite albums of last year, it took a while to grow on me, but is up there with their best.

If that comment carries any weight (and I never really trust what artists say about their own product), it must refer to the sound, because the song writing isn't really the same.

It's made up of samples, so it's very repetitive I guess, almost like chants. To me, it sounds like a Beach Boys jam session back in 1967 or something.

If you lived in England you'd be getting a letter from the Queen. Happy Birthday! -

and The Straight Story (which is my personal favourite of his)

The vocals sound like The Beach Boys (but think more - "Cool, Cool Water" Beach Boys rather than "Help Me Rhonda"), and the music is kind of low-fi in sound, but very rhythmical and catchy, which isn't what you'd normally expect from that sort of thing. It's really hard to describe, but I'd really recommend you check it out asap if you can. If you need some help then let me know.

Panda Bear - Person Pitch. Fuck me, this is cool stuff!

From the listens I've had so far, I'm going to like this one about as much as I liked Funeral, which is in small doses. I just find them very tiring to listen to for any sustained period of time, and I think that is due to the production rather than the songs themselves. I'm not trying to diss them or anything, cos I like what they do a fair bit. I just like them in small doses rather than across an entire album (which doesn't mean I only like certain songs, it just means I only like to hear one or two before I have to put something else on).

ooh la la - the faces (i can't really think of another song that makes me feel so happy and sad at the same time)

Is it a promo copy or has it leaked somewhere?

Yeah, I've done some digging too, and couldn't find anything. Can you point me in the right direction?

I don't know where you heard that. I think it's pretty good, anyway (as is Hold Your Fire). I'd imagine if you like Man then you'd like the rest of it. Here's a couple of other tracks (track 2 & 3 on the album) to see what you think: patto tracks Sorry about the low bitrate.

you can buy the album on amazon, if it's hard to find in your local music store: patto - patto

Good to see this back. Same old faces ... (anyway, she needs to ditch the zutons and put a solo sax album - i'd buy it)
