  1. I watched a fair bit of that too - from the Style Council up till the time that Curb Your Enthusiasm started on the other side. It was pretty good and kept a non fan of his entertained. Noel Gallagher, on the other hand, was about as insightful and witty as ever - that being, not very (does it actually mean anything for one of your mates to say "That was a fuckin' great album that"?)
  2. I'd imagine she (Becky Stark) is fairly mad. She's got a great voice though. They've only got an EP out at the moment (although she has self-released a solo album), but I can't wait to hear a full length album from the whole band.
  3. Apart from their set getting over-run by ninjas, how good or bad were Lavender Diamond (the opening act)?
  4. I stayed up and watched it, although I was half asleep by the time it came on. It was the same thing as was on the other week - bascially a section of the dvd. He played Sunken Treasure (which took up most of the 30 minutes! - I'm not much a fan of this song live, if you didn't guess), War on War with Nels and Glenn, Shot In The Arm, One By One and Acuff-Rose and probably something else I can't remember right at the moment.
  5. Oh, cos I was talking about creatures with big ears having sexual relations with homosexuals, and what with the Stan Collymore dogging scandal, I thought that Dennis had done something similar.
  6. No. Is there a scandal there I don't know about?
  7. I've seen a peanut stand, and heard a rubber band .... but I ain't never seen an elf on a bender. And I've been to panto many times. (sorry, the cum bunker talk regressed me somewhat)
  8. He's such a great comedy character. For some reason I thought that Rising Damp was a BBC show, I suppose it surprises me it's actually ITV concidering how appalling they are at making them today.
  9. I think it's so funny that you love all these old British comedies! Have you seen, or like Rising Damp/The Fall And Rise Of Reginald Perrin/Dad's Army (my favourite comedy of all time)?
  10. This isn't a comic book, but a character from a number of books. They should remake Dr Syn Alias The Scarecrow, as long as they make it on the coast of England somewhere (not ruin it like The Wicker Man). They should also release the disney version on dvd because it was a great film (well tv show type-film, which they then marketed as a film). Is he a character in The League Of Extraordinary Gentlemen, though? There was a pic of him in the film, but I know nothing of the comic/graphic novel/whatever it was.
  11. That wasn't my point. You can say that that was what he meant, or that was not what he meant - I personally am not too interested either way, but I do find it interesting to look at exactly how politically suicidal it is, if that was what he meant, and whether or not that should be the case or not.
  12. Yeah, I agree that would be the case, but should it? If the armed forces were to feel that a politician thought he was above them, does that mean that if he made decision that they were in agreement with, would they automatically wish to go against them and undermine them just because he thought they were morons. What I mean is - which is worse, thinking that they are morons and make the right decisions for them, or thinking that they aren't, and making the wrong decisions for them? I think you can understand someone, but still feel you are above them. It's whether or not the notion th
  13. If John Kerry did actually think that all American soldiers were stupid would this actually stop him from running your country properly? What I mean is, do you have to respect a social group to have it's best interests at heart and govern it properly, or not?
  14. I'd like to hear Jeff attempt Shooby Taylor's Lift Every Voice and Sing. (i like car crash entertainment)
  15. I certainly prefer Love & Theft too. I think that both albums have the same amount of brilliant tracks, but the lesser songs on Modern Times are not of the same standard, or hold the same interest for me, as the lesser songs on Love & Theft. I bet Thunder On The Mountain is pretty damn good live, though.
  16. I don't know, I think Mwng would have gone down well. It's not like anyone can understand what the bejiggery Liam is saying some times. Understand. Care. Something like that, anyway.
  17. It would have been interesting to have seen if they'd have still made the same albums if they had been as big as Oasis though. Although Guerilla would surely have lost them all those fans probably anyway.
  18. I think Guerilla wins for my favourite SFA album, but pretty much all their albums are held in high regard with me (even Outspaced - the b sides album is good). Gruff Rhys has actually got another solo album out early in the new year, and a single out in December, and the Furries have another album out sometime soon too aparrently. NP. Listening to Gathering Moss right now, you can see why they never made it big like Oasis, for example - they are a bit too sofisticated and varried in sound and tone to have made it really big.
