At each Wilco show my poor husband suffers from equipment envy. (It took me months after the last show to convince him he didn't need a Kaos(sp?) pad...

Unrelated, but can anyone tell me what kind of headphones Glenn's little girl is wearing?

2010 NW US/Trans Canada tour announcement coming soon

Didn't they play only one note though? Pearl Jam ended their Cross-Canada tour a few years ago with 2 shows in St. John's, which was quite surprising. Wilco played in Corner Brook back in 1997(?) but unfortunatley have not been back since. It sucks because I have hooked all my family back in Newfoundland on to them... -

Glad the West is feeling the love - but as I stated before - noone ever goes to Newfoundland... sad really... Still not a full Trans-Canada tour in my eyes... -
Maybe Nels has a banjo phobia...

What's the World got in Store live? I noticed that it had accumulated the 2nd most number of requests for night 2 of UIC, but they never played it. I requested it for the Edmonton show in Feb. (front row tickets - yeah me!), but I really doubt that they will play it. Here's to hoping!

Alrighty then, if you had the wonderful magical chance of being the sole creator of a Wilco setlist for a night - what would you put on it? Figure 15 songs average for main set and 4-5 per encore. How would you try to seamless mesh a musical landscape spanning 15 or so years?

As long as the creative momentum is forward and evolving the band will continue.

I think playing live is really what energizes each member of the band, which is probably why this incarnation has lasted so long. I was extremely tepid originally with regards to the present "incarnation" of the band, concerned over how an avant-garde jazz guitarist would mesh. Not to insult any previous member contributions, but Nels, in my little opinion, brought a breathe of fresh air to their music, particulary with regard to his live improvisational skills. That being said, in recent television appearances, (unfortunetly my only source of live Wilco music, until February) his playin

I saw a girl at a Halloween party once who had a bunch of household sponges taped all over herself. When I asked her what she was she said "self-absorbed"...

I am still holding out for Wilco's triumphant return to Newfoundland - but alas most Canadian tours end in Halifax... sigh... It would be so awesome to see them at home! (Lot's of family to baby-sit the kiddos). -
Was able to catch it half way through Impossible Germany which, just to say, is one of my least favourite Wilco songs for some reason. Got to finally hear Hoodoo live which was awesome. For a live broadcast I thought the sound was amazing, especially the bass and drums. Really anxious to hear the impending tour announcement - I miss my Wilco!

Could also be titled - why no love for Western Canada???

Toronto is just to far away for me...

My two year old thinks the absolute funniest thing in the world is when the girl throws her bra onstage during Heavy Metal Drummer - he runs up to the TV and points at it and laughs hysterically. Sometimes I'll ask him what movie he wants to watch (they have many!) and he'll say "I Nilco mommy". So my kids are on board but my husband isn't so much anymore. Maybe because it's not just "his" thing anymore...

My five year old, while watching the Ashes DVD, asked why Wilco travels on a bus. So I said they need to travel from town to town in order to play shows to make money. So she decided to that she was going to make Wilco a box, and she was going to colour it and fill it with money for them so they wouldn't have to travel so much.

It's just annoying a little because my husband and I have such different musical tastes - lately he's into jazz like Ken Vandermark. Wilco is really the only band we both like. Which brings me to another question - do any other couples out there have his and hers music collections? (Or as my husband calls it the good and the bad)...
-
He told me yesterday that if he hears me play Wilco much longer I might turn him off of them altogether. It's his fault, he introduced me to them!

spouse think they listen to Wilco TOO MUCH?

Just about to head into work and heard Walken playing from the outside patio at the local Original Joes!

Wilco was on Austin City Limits and I only caught the last 10 minutes. I've seen it at least 2x before, but darn...

Alberta's Big Valley Jamboree ends early after storm kills one, injures dozens Module body 1 hour, 14 minutes ago By Lisa Arrowsmith, The Canadian Press ADVERTISEMENT CAMROSE, Alta. - Construction cranes replaced country music fans at the Big Valley Jamboree in Alberta on Sunday, as workers cleaned up after a devastating storm that smashed into the main concert stage, killing one person and injuring as many as 75 others. The concert bowl caved in after wild winds hit the popular annual festival in Camrose, about 100 kilometres southeast of Edmonton, around suppertime on Satur
