  1. Noticed there is no more song request function on the shows page of the website... I guess Jeff figured out the system was being rigged. Haha.
  2. My wife and I saw the show in Los Angeles last Wednesday. They were really incredible. Daltry sounded great - obviously they have Pete's brother and the other backup singers doubling some of his parts to help, but the dude sure still can sing his balls off for someone of that age. In Won't Get Fooled again he belted out that big "Yeaaaaah!" after teh instrumental part and Staples Center just erupted. Really glad that they played The Seeker and Bargain. So happy we got to see them, those dudes still have so much attitude after all this time.
  3. Since they already did Star Wars out here on the west coast, I'd imagine we will get something different this time around but it's hard to predict. Last year when I bought tickets to the show at The Greek, I was expecting to get the show format they had been doing with the rare, lesser played songs from rarities compilation that had come out. Then they released Star Wsrs unexpectedly and we got that show, so really who knows what we'll get.
  4. Definitely try Airbnb as others have suggested. Hotels in SF are ridiculous but my wife and I have always been able to find something for less than $100 a night on Airbnb.
  5. How did everyone do in the general onsales? My wife and I managed to get all 3 nights in LA - 1 night in presale and the other 2 today in general onsale. Super excited for these shows.
  6. I mostly meant I think people will try to get away with anything they can to make money - so even if they have to give the money back, I think they are still going to try... I have bought tickets off stub-hub when they are face value or less. I have also had some really good luck getting last minute tickets for shows for face value or less on craigslist. Everywhere you go there are going to be scammers though.
  7. I think folks just try to get away with whatever they can. It was the same thing with the Radiohead shows here in LA, where the tix have super tight restrictions about being will call only and the person who buys the tix has to be there to get them and walk in with their guest, but those tix popped up. I think the kinds of people selling those tix on stubhub don't really care if the person buying that ticket will be able to get in or not - they just are trying to make a buck, even if it'is shady. There are also a ton of d-bags on craigslist selling their "extra" ticket to those Radiohead sh
  8. I got 2 center section orchestra level tix for the first night of LA in the presale today! Hoping i can grab some of the cheaper tickets for the other 2 nights in the regular onsale Friday.
  9. Psyched for Theatre at Ace Hotel in LA. What a great sounding venue and pretty intimate too. Both Tweedy shows there were super - I wonder if they will try to stop people from getting up and dancing again this time around...
  10. So jealous of those going to the Red Rocks 2016 shows. Unfortunately it's not in the cards for me this year, but I'm still basking in the glow of the 3+ hour epic rager that was Red Rocks 2015. Hope to make it back out to CO to see them again in the future. Enjoy it if you're going!
  11. Really digging this album. I'll echo the comment about it being like In Rainbows combined with Amnesiac - I'd also throw some Hail To The Theif in there as well. It's really, really good. Everytime it rolls to the end of the album I basically just start it over again and again. Love hearing the little nuances that pop out with repeated listens. This writer's 8 year old son reviewed the new album track by track and he posted it on twitter. Pretty hilarious review. http://www.thepoke.co.uk/2016/05/09/track-track-review-radioheads-moon-shaped-pool-8-year-old/
  12. Agreed. Neil's set at Jazzfest was possibly one of the greatest sets of rock n' roll psychedelia that I've ever seen. It was basically the concert I've been waiting to see my whole life - like what I imiagine it would have been like seeing Floyd, Zeppelin or Crazy Horse back in the 70's. It was so unpredictable and they were really feeling it and creating some magic on that stage. I read that he played so long over his time that Trombone Shorty was left with less than an hour. I'm guessing Neil and POTR played for about 2:15 and only played 8 songs in all that time. I personally loved ev
  13. Hey all! Just wanted to share the awesome news that my Wife and I have landed a show at Neutral Ground Coffee House in New Orleans on Monday 5/2 just following the Jazzfest weekend. We are even listed on the Jazzfest Aftershow Grids! To promote the trip we made this video for our cover of Simon and Garfunkel's "Richard Cory." We got married last Halloween and we have been playing music together for about 6 years at this point. One day of our honeymoon, we were having a truly psychedelic day (if you get my meaning) and happened to be listening to Simon and Garfunkel. It sent us on a tails
  14. My Wife and I drove out to Red Rocks from LA for the epic 3 hour show lthey put on last August. Ridiculous. You are going to have so much fun over two nights.
  15. I would be over the moon if MMJ announced osme kind of late night show, especially something with Pres. Hall... here's hoping with fingers crossed...
  16. Thanks for all the heads up. I had read that many of the acts we'd want to see might be performing at the same time in different spots. My wife already said hands down that we are not missing Paul Simon and I'd have to agree (even as much as we both love MMJ). Also - Neil Young is a definite for us. We had to miss his show with Promise Of The Real here in LA sadly, so we won't be missing them at Jazz Fest. Thanks for the late night info too!
  17. My wife and I just booked flights and an apartment on airbnb for 2nd weekend. Honestly, I can't believe how affordable the whole thing was. We are getting 2 one day passes to do Friday and Sunday. Super stoked to see Paul Simon, My Morning Jacket, Neil Young, Mavis Staples, Isley Bros. This will be our first time doing Jazzfest, so we are very stoked. Planning to take our instruments and busk wherever we can the rest of the days we are out there. I'm sure there are going to be some kickass shows happening outside of Jazzfest as well.
  18. Nope - community forums haven't change in the past 15 years - if your first post in the ocmmunity is you trying to sell something rather than contribute to the community, the community determines most rightfully that you are probably a douche trying to make a buck. And you shouldn't be surprised when they take very opportunity to call you out on your motives.
  19. I got harrassed at Wilco at The Hollywood Bowl for standing/dancing. Some jerk-offs seated in the garden boxes behind me and my fiancee didn't like us standing during the show andresorted to passive aggressive statements and throwing water at us. I opted to not sit down for the rest of that show. If someone is going to be polite about it and ask me to sit, I'm going to comply (but probably going to stand again at some point and just move off to the side, out of that persons point of view). I'm definitely a stander/dancer at any concert I cattend, especially Wilco shows.
  20. Our album is now streaming on Soundcloud!
  21. Thanks! To get the lead sound on the riff part I doubled over the original take with my fuzz box settings slightly adjusted and my guitar set on a different pickup. The lead sound on the jam is just the single track from the original take. Our whole album is streaming on Spotify starting today for anyone who uses that - just search Northern Strangers Where The River Goes or go here. We put out a music video for Feel Your Way last week too!
  22. I was at this show. Amazing night. My first show at Red Rocks and it was an incredible experience. Almost a 3 hour show! They were really going for it. Gret jams all night long. Just wow.
