Rolling Stones' Exile On Main Street Week
Analogman replied to u2roolz's topic in Someone Else's Song
Oh - To me it is one of the greatest albums of all time. It's a shame they put out a crappy re-issue. They must all be deaf or just did it for the money. -

I'd say I wasted my money. Oh well. -

I bought a bunch of cds a while back - and I got the two disc version of the Exile and Main Street while I was at it. I have to say it does sound very bright. I was expecting a booklet with some essays or some notes about the sessions. No (tumbling) dice. Holy Crap - those new vocals on the old tracks are terrible. -
Had Me A Real Good Time The Faces: Before, During, & After - Andy Neil I recently bought this book and just finished reading it. I think it is the first rock book I have bought in quiet a while. I'd say I learned some things I did not know. You don't get a very good feeling about Rod by the end of the book. I guess that is not surprising. Mac recently posted on his website that the Faces are going to do some shows in the United States next year. Ron's son Jesse is now playing guitar in the band along side his father. Although I don't have a Twittter account, I recently got an am invi

Bob Egan You can get the dvd by way of The DVD Project.
-
You can also go to Wilcobase and look up the song. After you do that, click on the page for the show, and you may find a link to the show at The Wilco Live Show Archive. I think there may also be a thread or two in this section of Via Chicago about the acoustic version of Spiders. You may find some links to The Wilco Live Show Archive in those threads.

Wilcobase has not been updated in a long time.

It would be better to check the After The Show thread.

I'd like to have it - as that is probably my Favorite Who album. But - that is too much for me. -

Tony has a book coming out this winter. I think he is going to be on the metal show soon.

Black Sabbath Online states that nothing official has been put out there so far.

I had to look it up. They didn't play that song on Saturday, they played it on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. So I figured we must have been there on a Friday. And then I remembered I have a file that lists all the setlists of shows I have been to over the years. But - I had the date wrong on the Wilco show we were at. It was the 6th, not the 5th. And I have that ticket somewhere. But I forgot about that.
-
I thought we were all at the Friday show.
-
I didn't give you much. Maybe someone else will recall which night that was filmed.
-
It was from one of the shows that took place in May 2005 in Chicago. I forget which one though. It's been posted here several times over the years.

I figured Rhino would get around to releasing those eventually. I have original pressings of all the Sabbath albums up through The Mob Rules. Bill Ward's drumming on Vol. 4 is incredible.
-
It's up at the Wilco Archive. We got it from Edie.
-
That's a reference to The Prisoner (British T.V. show, 1960s).

Check out the section of Via Chicago named Greatest Lost Track of All Time - In A Future Age. That is where torrent links are posted. -
I'll probably get that, along with the other dvds I don't yet have - the Isle of Wight show, and the Band of Gypsys dvd. I recently got the West Coast Seattle Boy boxset. I'd say it's pretty good so far. I see the family is going to let us have those Chas Chandler tapes a little bit at a time. I wonder how much his family got from the sale of the tapes? It would be nice if they would some day put out all four of the Band of Gypsys shows.

That is how I have it - on VHS. The original copy I bought way back when was loaned out and never returned. Someone on here kindly sent me their VHS copy. For those that may want to hear them, there is a collection out there called "Mermaid Avenue Demos".

I have never seen that. I hope they someday do a big boxset release of Rattle & Hum. I still think that is some of the best concert footage I have ever seen. Maybe when the Achtung Baby re-master comes out I can sell my Achtung Baby era Propaganda magazines for big bucks.
-
You can get brand new VHS copies of it by way of the Wood Guthrie website. I think there are used DVD copies of it on Amazon. They use to go for a lot of money once upon a time.

I think I found out that some of them have no audio. They were up at Youtube at some point.
