I was going to say - one thing is not like the others on that list. Ha ha ha

Rock Hall Short List Includes Guns N' Roses, The Cure, Joan Jett, Faces

That's a shame. I figure it comes down to licensing the songs. I guess that guy could not afford to pay for them. There a lot of documentaries like that out there. It's usually a bunch of critics talking about a band, with some questionable footage, and sound alike music playing in the background.

That's cool. I am glad you guys like it.

There are sorts of R.E.M. shows popping up on Dime a Doze these days. There was even an unreleased live album from 1984 posted the other day.
-
I don't know - it's all too quiet or something like that.

The album is not doing anything for me. Oh well. That is one good thing about the internet - you can hear albums before you decide to buy them.
-
It's shows how much the record business has changed - 950,000 albums sold the first week. Amazing.

I'm watching the film by way of On Demand. I'd say it's pretty powerful so far. I'd like to have the hat that Jeff is wearing - since those are my initials. I would have loved to see them back in the early days. That song Immortality gets me every time. I'd forgotten about the Temple Of The Dog album. I still have the tape I bought when it came out.

We tried to get Wilco on archive.org. The band said no. That is why we built The Wilco Archive.

Van Zandt: E-Street Band To Decide Future Soon

I think they are from multi-track tapes that were used to make the original album. Or they are from the SBD - as I guess a lot of the original tapes were overdubbed when they were working on the album.
-
I believe the deal is - all the shows that were in the big expensive boxset are now all coming at separately. There is also the Europe '72 Volume 2 cd - which is a companion piece to the original Europe '72. This is not to be confused with the Europe '72 that was in The Golden Road boxset - which contains bonus tracks that were not on the original Europe '72 release. Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha

I never messed with those re-issues either. I may have to check those out at some point.
-
I was looking at the Lifes Rich Pageant (the first R.E.M. album I ever bought) 25th anniversary reissue on Amazon. I see there are complaints about it being loud. That is a shame.

Jimmy Fallon To Honor Pinky Floyd With Week of Tributes

Oh - that is pretty cool. We talked about those books from time to time in our other GD threads.
-
I have them. The are out of print, but you can sometimes find them for a reasonable price on Amazon.
-
I may end up getting that at some point.

Interesting article. He's shitting the bull there quite a bit though. I've always preferred Love Is Hell over Heartbreaker and Gold.
-
I thought so also. I normally would not buy such a thing, but since some of it was filmed at the show I was at - I suppose I may get it eventually.
-
That photo makes me think of The Basement Tapes album cover.

Neil Peart Taking Center Stage: Lifetime of Live Performances
